And already top ten on the digital chart... can this song from Oscar nominated actress Anna Kendrick cross over to the UK?

'Already' is a weird word to use when this has been hanging around for literally months. It was already a (very) minor UK hit at the start of the year, peaking at #71.

The success of this song is truly baffling.

The success at the start of the year was down to the stripped back, "normal" version used in the film 'Pitch Perfect'. This spruced up, fully produced version, if given a push over here, could actually become a genuine hit of some sort.

I actually hate this song with a passion, especially them two girls who did it on youtube. -_- Irritating.

Finally a top 10 hit in the US. :wub: The pop version is one of my songs of the year.

Nowhere near the best song in the film, although some of the medleys made it onto the Hot 100 for a few weeks so must have done pretty well.

Anna Kendrick has confirmed plans to officially release her global hit 'Cups' in the UK. The singer will release the Pitch Perfect cut in the UK on October 28, following its Top 10 success in the US. The track has sold over 2 million copies in the States and has already sold 46,000 copies in the UK ahead of its official impact date.

 

'Cups' is an extended and re-titled version of 'When I'm Gone' from a capella film Pitch Perfect, which was released in cinemas last year. The music video incorporates the popular cup rhythm seen in the film, with choreography by Aakomon Jones. Anna Kendrick currently has six films in production and recently signed a new record deal with Republic Records.

Heard this a while back, I really like the song, it's quite cute, but the actual cup dance thing is so bloody annoying. :lol: I hope it can be a hit here, radio needs to pick it up.

It's gonna be absolutely huge, no doubt about it.

It feels so random for it to be released this late on from Pitch Perfect though. Would be weird if it became a hit.

I love this song. I love the cup dancing too. I know sometimes it could get annoying to some. I prefer Anna's version in the movie though. Simpler and more heartfelt for me.

I found this video online and I think this is pretty amazing. It's pretty short and could honestly benefit a few tricks and smooth moves, but I think this is a really cool version of the cup dance. This time the artist combined juggling into the original choreo and came up with his version, which I think is pretty amazing.
