Posted August 24, 200618 yr On this week's Billboard Album Chart, The veteran metal rock band Slayer makes chart history...of the wrong kind sadly. :o The band latest album called "Christ Illusion" which last week ented the charts at #5 will fall all the way down to #41 this week on the Billboard 200. This big drop breaks the record for highest charting one week stay on the top 40 of the Billboard 200 previous set by the band Wednesday with their album "War All The Time" in 2003 which fell out of the top 40 in its second week on the chart after debut at #7 the week before. Some of the other acts whose have done this collapse on the chart in recent years includes Phish, Chef Raekwon and a Vans Warped Compliation album.
August 24, 200618 yr Woah, that a big drop :o yeah but its obvious what kind of act they are, the type that only sells to their fans and doesnt cross over into tempting any other buyers
August 24, 200618 yr At last they have a loyal fanbase. Most of the artists who are big today won´t be able to reach the Top 100 if radios and MTV stop playing them. Plus, being Top 5 is getting easier for acts like these because the market is in it´s worst period, but fanbase acts will always sell the same, they don´t need occasional buyers.
August 24, 200618 yr Anyway, well done to Christina Aguilera selling 342,000 copies of her brilliant new album Back to Basics in it's first week. :cheer:
