July 16, 201312 yr Not too fussed about the songs so far, although there are a few others which should have been below 'Ben' and 'Butterflies'.
July 16, 201312 yr You didn't even listen to the majority of these (terrible) songs!!! You gave "Heal the World" an 8!!!

Again it’s the music video that remains the most iconic thing about the song as a stellar all-star cast of Michael’s celebrity friends, including John Travolta, Whoopi Goldberg and a whole heap more gather together to join in the pining. One of the more unique songs on the album, it seems a few of you aren’t loving the Sub-Saharan beauty as much as Michael is. The final single to be released during the King of Pop’s lifetime for his Number Ones album compilation, is lyrically a special little number. It seemed Michael could never fully love throughout his life, so the chorus here speaks wonders for his experiences especially around the time when everything was turning sour in his personal life. And following straight after, is another final single to be released, but this time following his death as a compliment to the concert documentary of the same name, . There was some controversy surrounding the release of the single but taking all that away, it remains a fairly fine memento to the singer's life and seems to round off all of his trials, tribulations and relationships with one final hurrah. The documentary itself is an enjoyable watch and displays the showman at his best and most humbling as he readied himself for what would have been his comeback tour which unfortunately never came into fruition.
July 17, 201312 yr This Is It (the film) was an awesome watch. He really was in brilliant shape during the tour rehearsals, it would've been an epic show.
July 17, 201312 yr Author Oh I'm not so sure it is. :D You're not sure it's what, bad? B-) This Is It (the film) was an awesome watch. He really was in brilliant shape during the tour rehearsals, it would've been an epic show. Completely agree. The electricity was still there it seemed :'(
July 17, 201312 yr You're not sure it's what, bad? B-) I think he's trying to say that it's not the first 'bad' (as in 'not good') song in the countdown :P

The “so horrendous!!1!” fails to soothe you guys as one of MJ’s biggest hits crashes out. X Factor/karaoke favourite and all-round clichéd, run-of-the-mill preach anthem, I can definitely see where some of the disdain for the song comes from. It probably is the weakest of Michael’s save the world tunes and doesn’t seem to have aged as well as the others which probably explains its fairly low placing here. That and Buzzjack is just full of pesky evil haters x From the extravagant to the stripped back now with . Taken from the disco-infused Off The Wall, it stands out as the most serene and sombre numbers on the album but it definitely seems to be lacking the magic that makes the album so bright. Beautifully soulful and powerful though, it’s still a vintage-jackson delight. And what a stunning video to go with. Turning up the trio loud now is the second Bad single to chart (or 10th if you’re Jahq). With some killer verses and a rocking beat, is ultimately let down slightly by the chorus, which remains one of the limpest on the album. Still a rip roaring bonanza with the ever raspy tones of Michael sounding as raw as ever. Heehee.
July 17, 201312 yr Heal the World is pure stilton. In a way I do think it typifies what's wrong with the Dangerous album - very clean, slightly bland vocals lacking his trademark passion and grit, and a rather basic melody (let's not even go into the lyrics). But I can't help enjoy it nonetheless.
July 18, 201312 yr Heal the World is nice enough but Earth Song is the better of his preachy songs and it's great to see that this countdown reflects that.
July 18, 201312 yr I'd have liked 'Heal the World' to have been higher, but it isn't too bad that it's this low.
July 18, 201312 yr "Heal the World" is awful. If I were preached that by MJ, I would rather die than hear him continue harping on.
July 18, 201312 yr Heal the World is so bad and Earth Song represents how a preachy song should be done. It is far far far superior.
July 19, 201312 yr I don't get "Earth Song", it's just a load of noise to me. At least "Heal The World" has a good tune and message even if some of the lyrics are cliché.

A personal favourite of mine and one that continues to grow, it manages to work with both extravagance and simplicity to move and entice on every listen. Beauty. From the heartbreaking to the dangerous sounds of , a track that only really sparked new life for me recently, but one that connects and sticks in stylish fashion. The opening to the song is pure magic and though it manages to remain at a fairly consistent level throughout, it's still a joyous rollercoaster with every listen. Not quite the coming out gay anthem that the title suggests, it instead revolves around a concealed relationship with a mysterious girl (played by Naomi Campbell in the scorching music video). The song was apparently originally intended to be a Madonna/Michael Jackson project but this was rejected to save the world from self imploding in an orgy of musical excellence. And completing this trilogy is one of the more upbeat and feel good tracks off Thriller which perfectly transitioned early 70's Michael into the new decade and still today manages to be a joyous throwback to early R&B. There seems to be a rise recently in the charts today with the likes of Bruno Mars and JT chanelling the Off The Wall / P.Y.T. sounds and so it's brilliantly refreshing to see how the King did it all those years ago. You guys rate this as the second weakest single from the album, which sits about right for me too. Woop.
