March 3, 201411 yr Pardew should be consigned to the stand for the rest of the season for his own sake. Let's not forget that Duncan Ferguson faced jail for headbutting John McStay. I don't think this is over at all.
March 3, 201411 yr Pardew should be banned for the rest of the season. Didn't this happen in Germany a few years ago by the way? I'm sure it did. No surprises there that Pardew has been charged by the FA. Edited March 3, 201411 yr by Mack
March 3, 201411 yr I'd hope Pardew doesn't get anything this season. They're finishing 8th or 9th this season anyway. It would be better for his ban to start at the beginning of next season, at least then it might actually feel like a punishment. If Paul Ince was banned from the stadium for being abusive to officials then he should get at least the same.

March 8, 201411 yr I see Adebayor has started his can't be bothered phase once again, told you it was coming!
March 9, 201411 yr Fingers and toes crossed for Wigan tomorrow! Not much hope mind ... but you never can tell!
March 9, 201411 yr I see Adebayor has started his can't be bothered phase once again, told you it was coming! Playing alongside those gutless sacks of shit that he has to would make anyone lose the will to live Never since i have been watching us have i encountered so many spineless lily livered fairies We were robbed by an imho corrupt ref but no excuse for the white flag of surrender like happened yesterday and against Cityx2, Liverpool etc We are being heavily linked with Louis Van Gaal today, we need someone like him to go medieval on the 'players'
March 9, 201411 yr Imagine Spurs players in the trenches in a war  "Boo hoo i want my mummy, my fingernail has cracked" "My hair is dirty, i want to die" Far as i am concerned get rid of the lot of them bar Walker, Dawson and Sandro, they show pride and passion, the rest should be sold and replaced with players who would run through a brick wall for the club and would rather die than lose a game
March 9, 201411 yr Or you could find a manager who picks your best player. Eriksen? Been struggling with injury for a while, plus again he is another player who goes into his shell when the chips are down We were as good as Chelsea yesterday till the stupid 1st goal, after that we fell to pieces, Eriksen would make no difference in such a situation We need Flamini type players in our team, players who lead by example and will put a rocket up the ass of anyone not pulling their weight We have a skillful but mentally weak team
March 9, 201411 yr After AVB said "we" are to blame, the media had a go at him for blaming the players for a heavy defeat. After Sherwood blames the players for a heavy defeat it's brave and courageous to say such a thing. I really don't get what was so bad about Villas-Boas that he consistently got so much criticism, it really was that he took over from their Golden Boy wasn't it? Sherwood is useless, utterly clueless. Hope Arsenal thrash them next week too.

AVB wasn't THAT bad but the style of play he had us playing was unacceptable, it was like watching George Graham as Spurs manager all over again, worse infact, AVB's style of play with high back line and slow possession football does not work in England, he had to go He had lost the fans due to style of play then he lost the dressing room, had to go AVB is not a bad manager, he would probably do great in Italy where style of play is slower
March 9, 201411 yr According to our top ITK, great track record Levy and AVB had a meeting after Liverpool game where Levy 'invited him' (told him) to change the style of play, AVB refused, so he was dismissed by Levy

I'm not sure what people were expecting from Spurs this season. There's been a massive change in personnel - not just Bale leaving, but the likes of Caulker and Huddlestone as well - and to finish 5th given everything would be an achievement given how much better the top 4 is this year. Even finishing 6th behind last season's champions wouldn't be bad.

He isn't fit to be a first team regular atm though, he has been struggling with an ankle problem for weeks, has to be 'managed' and used sparingly, that is why he has not been getting much playing time, not because Sherwood doesn't rate him or anything.
March 9, 201411 yr Spurs spent the best part of 100m in the summer apparently 'upgrading' their squad. The problem was they just bought any old player, ones that weren't suited to AVBs style of play. It's shown they've cracked under the pressure but when you spend that much money success is expected of. The same thing happened with Kenny at Liverpool. The players weren't suited to AVBs tactics, and he is not a pragmatic manager. People don't mind boring defensive football when you're winning see Mourinho and Benitez. But it's dire when you're not winning. The problem now at Spurs is there's nothing let for them to play for if they don't beat Arsenal.

That is what cost him his job, Levy was not going into that meeting with the intention of sacking AVB, but it became clear to him during it that AVB would not change his tactics/style of play, whether this is because he is too proud/arrogant/stubborn, or he knows no other way of playing, I don't know, but Levy was not impressed with what he heard in that meeting so let him go Our season effectively ended that day, Sherwood does not have the coaching badges, there was no quality manager willing to switch clubs during the season so Sherwood was bought in to steady the ship, we can not expect 4th under an inexperienced manager with no coaching badges. We are going all out for Van Gaal, if he doesn't take the job then we should 100% bring Harry back

We are going all out for Van Gaal, if he doesn't take the job then we should 100% bring Harry back But I don't see what Van Gaal will do? He's a short term approach (again) and he often causes more problems than solutions in the long term. The bigger problem Spurs have is you only have a handful of players that will stay and fight for you, and even then I don't think some of them are top 4 quality. Sherwood having no coaching badges shows, and it's probably a lesson to all of the millionaire professionals that your reputation in football won't mean you'll be a success as a manager. It's just baffling, and poor management from Spurs in general. They don't have an identity or anything. Why buy players that aren't suited to the managers style of play? To me that just shows how the Head Coach and DOF system can't work in England. Everyone clearly had different ideas.

I have my doubts about Van Gaal because i fear he might lose the dressing room but he is a manager that rules by fear, manages with an iron fist, players would not dare surrender like they did twice against City and against Liverpool and Chelsea, they would be too scared to, he would give Spurs mental strength and quickly ship out anyone who doesn't have the same will to win he has. We have had a succession of nice guys and cheeky chappies, we now need the equivalent of the drill sergeant in Full Metal Jacket, Van Gaal fits that bill

We have had a succession of nice guys and cheeky chappies, we now need the equivalent of the drill sergeant in Full Metal Jacket, Van Gaal fits that bill I think right now you're probably 2/3 seasons behind the current top 4. You just need a style / identity. Right now you've too many of the same types of players, and too many players that aren't good enough. Liverpool had the same problem, and we hired a psychologist to deal with it. The problem's been just about eradicated now, and one of the characteristics we buy look for in players is that mental attitude and will/desire to succeed. I wouldn't say you surrended against Chelsea, just some really bad individual errors, and a poor refereeing decision. But I watched the game last night, and you never looked like scoring all game. What's your goal difference, 0? That's worrying.
