I honestly thought Mercedes was Unique from a distance.

For once I enjoyed the New York scenes a lot more than the New Directions scenes. It's so good seeing Rachel and Santana together. No matter how 'sweet' it's meant to be, I hate the Kurt/Blaine storyline. "Yesterday" was my favourite performance of the episode.

For me personally, this was a really solid season premiere episode. I'll start with the main talking point of the episode - the Klaine proposal. Even though they are my favourite couple in the show, I wasn't completely sold on the proposal at the end of the last season. However, I think it was handled with excellence and Kurt's conversation with Burt also sealed the deal, along with Blaine's little speech. I'm so glad it was handled in the way that it was, you can just tell they're so in love. ALSO THE TWO KISSES. They were so romantic and adorable.

All You Need Is Love was definitely my favourite performance of the episode. Also, I really did like the I Saw Her Standing There performance - I love the Beatles look, outfits, dance moves and the black and white effects (not forgetting those pre-performance accents!) - very authentic!

So I'll get onto a couple of negatives now. Firstly, while I'm happy to see Sue back - didn't we already go there in Season 2 with the principal thing? It just seems like they recycle plots a lot (Although this is nothing new). I didn't really enjoy the Sue/Figgins scene, it was just SO over the top. Lastly, the whole Ryder thing. I think we all deserved an explanation as to why he was suddenly in the Glee Club, even if it was just a throwaway comment. I also felt that some of the scenes faded into musical numbers too quickly, especially Help!

In non-Klaine news, I absolutely ADORED the whole Rachel and Santana working set-up, plus the uniforms are fantastic. I also found some lines in the episode hilarious such as some of Kitty's lines in the choir room at the beginning and the Deaf Choir's "Oh no it's those New Directions Nerds" comment! Speaking of Kitty, I think her and Artie make a really sweet couple and am on board with that. As for Bree, I'm not exactly sold on her character yet but I don't think we've seen quite enough of her to make my mind up so early.

Lastly - I loved the small details in this episode such as the New Directions 2009 photo on Rachel's phone and Marley in the audience of the I Saw Her Standing There performance, hilarious!

Anyway before I continue to ramble I'll end it here. Great season premiere bar a few low points, hopefully the quality stays consistent rather than declining. OH also I love the fact that this episode felt so exciting and positive, I love the tone of these kind of episodes!

(Oh gosh this unintentionally turned out long!)

I loved it! I'm not really a Klaine shipper but I thought the proposal was well done and All You Need Is Love was brilliant. And Blaine's speech was also very good. I think Klaine work because Chris and Darren have great chemistry.

Was also pleasantly surprised to love Kitty and Artie this episode. And Kitty is becoming a brilliant character!

Only just got round to this b/c flop Gleek :drama:

The proposal was just... omg  I'm not a Klaine shipper either (basically because I don't really like Kurt and whenever Glee is on I'm driven to the point of obsession with Darren Criss) but it was so well done and just sweet <3 Aside from my intense jealousy of Kurt, they're the sort of couple you just kinda really root for (not as far as shipping though, oh dear). I loved the Santana and Rachel scenes in New York too, their friendship is probably my favourite on Glee. It's also nice to see Kitty develop, but I agree the Sue bits weren't great. Also I wasn't really a fan of the performances aside from Yesterday, A Hard Day's Night and All You Need Is Love.

'All You Need Is Love' was great! I was actually tearing up, because I knew it'd be a scene that if he was there, Finn would be in... if that's how I was for that performance... I'm going to need help for episode 3!
