Posted August 7, 201311 yr Voyager was my favourite and Captain Janeway was my favourite Captain!! Edited August 10, 201311 yr by jsg2013
August 7, 201311 yr Series rank: 01 Voyager 02 TNG 03 DS9 (the final 3 seasons are incredible, but overall has a lot of crap)/Enterprise (very underrated, and got great just as it ended) 05 TOS Captain rank: 01 Janeway 02 Picard 03 Kirk 04 Archer 05 Sisko
August 7, 201311 yr Author Series rank: 01 Voyager 02 TNG 03 DS9 (the final 3 seasons are incredible, but overall has a lot of crap) 04 Enterprise 05 TOS Captain rank: 01 Janeway 02 Picard 03 Kirk 04 Archer 05 Sisko Id rank the captains the same and with the series's I'd say the same too but it'd be a tossup between ds9 & enterprise for 3 for me. I think voyager is my fave cause you can actually feel for the crew!! and the New aliens they came up with were brilliant, especially species 6472!!! Endgame was a bit of a let down though!!! August 7, 201311 yr Oh I loved Endgame. It felt like a fitting sendoff to that whole 24th century ERA of Trek as much as Voyager and I cry literally every time I hear her say the words ''Set a course...for home'' such was/is my investment with the crew. The first 2 seasons were near universal dreck, but the same is true for almost all the Trek incarnations really. It REALLY got going in the middle of S3 and when Seven got onboard.

I think that's why they brought 7 on board. Only so much they could do with kes, but at her most interesting was when she transcended!!! 7 was blatantly to catch some new fans, especially since ratings slipped from the first episode of season 1 and never recovered like they did with TNG (which is so inferior!!) Some of the best episodes were nothing to do with any of ths story arcs. Course : Oblivion being a perfect example. Edited August 7, 201311 yr by jsg2013
August 7, 201311 yr Kes was an utter waste of space and screen time. Truly ABYSMAL character in every way, I was so happy when she left. Though I did like when she returned all angry and with a bit of personality and bite to her.

August 7, 201311 yr Author Yeah I know. She clearly was never a part of the crew. Why did they even do that?
August 9, 201311 yr DS9 was the best series by far and also the most consistent. Like all the captains bar Janeway really. DS9 - Sisko, Quark, Odo, Dax, Worf all great TOS - The Holy Trinity of Kirk, Spock and Bones Enterprise - Would have been seriously dull without T'Pol. TNG - Picard, Worf and Data I only really half care about, But it does have the best Trek episode ever in Best Of Both Worlds part one Voyager - Sucked totally until Seven joined and frankly I gave up when they ruined The Borg.
August 9, 201311 yr DS9 was the best series by far and also the most consistent. Like all the captains bar Janeway really. This so much. I don't know why it's taken me this long to notice this thread, I've had daydreams about how floppy running a Star Trek rate on here would be, that's how deep into Trekdom I am. 01) DS9 (only about 1 bad episode per season for me, and I like all the characters to some extent, although I haven't seen any episodes for YEARS, it was quite something watching it first time through) 02) Voyager (has much more of a family + arc feel than the other starship-based Treks, and I enjoy most of the characters, even if there were some clear directional problems and it has more than its fair share of crap) 03) TNG (some excellent episodes that are definitive examples of sci-fi as a whole (hi Cause And Effect) but too much episodic stuff to go above the others) 04) Enterprise (OK... got stuck halfway through S3 so I imagine my view of it would improve if I ever get past that) 05) Original Series (never interested me, the films aside) Captain rank: 01) Picard 02) Sisko 03) Janeway 04) Kirk *gap* 05) Archer
August 9, 201311 yr Actually having thought about it a bit more I could probably shove DS9 up to second. The final 10 episodes were incredible and some of the best trek ever made, well except maybe the last half hour of What We Leave Behind which was slightly annoying in it's reluctance to answer everything and with silly little plotholes that could have been so easily avoided. Like WHY no Jadzia in Worf's flashback? I mean God knows that was the biggest thing that happened to him there. And why didn't Sisko appear to HIS SON too? Even for a few seconds? Silly, silly, silly. But yeah it'll never top Voyager for me. The first few seasons of it are undoubtedly worse than DS9, but it got good quicker and I've always felt more invested in the characters. With DS9 there was always the issue of my intense dislike for Sisko. Though Jadzia, Garak, Kira and Odo are all obviously brilliant. AND it brought the ever wondrous WALK WITH THE PROPHETS MY CHILD into my everyday lingo, which is nice. Bless Kai Winn and her arrogant self righteousness. Bitch got what she deserved.
August 9, 201311 yr I've watched all incarnations of Star Trek My favourite TNG with Captain Picard. 1 TNG 2 Star Trek 3 DS9 4 Voyager 5 Enterprise Captains 1 Picard 2 Kirk 3 Sisko 4 Janeway 5 Archer I never really got into Enterprise, but it was getting interesting when the show got cancelled as John said above
August 9, 201311 yr I must admit the pilot epeisode for Voyager was a bit naff, and the first two seasons were pretty naff as well, when Jeri Ryan joined in Season 3, Voyager really took off, I'm glad Jennifer Lien (Kes) left at the end of Season 2, she was rather awful as an actress. I could also push DS9 into second place there are some excellent stories, it just had the perfect cast, with Worf joining the series, it was a shame when Jadzia left and was replaced by Nicole DeBoer, I never took to her. And I love Chase Masterton as Leeta, the Ferengi stories were brilliant and some excellent LOL moments with the Grand Nagus and Quark's Brother. With Odo and Kira's relationship mixed in there. Yes I'm a Star Trek geek for the past 30 years plus  I grab my coat, as I could go on for ages.
August 9, 201311 yr Kes was there until early S4! I couldn't remember when she left, I didn't realised she stayed that long, its been a long time since I last saw Voyager, as DS9 and Voyager were both running at the same time at one point, DS9 got my full attention. Come to think of it I do remember very vaguely Kes in Season 3 when Jeri Ryan joined.
