August 14, 201311 yr Entire top ten are non-movers? Oh my God. Welcome to America. :drama: That's like five weeks that Miley's spent at #02 :( I think at this stage it's "maybe next time" for her.
August 15, 201311 yr i really don't get how Maroon 5's Love Somebody is ahead of Macklemore's 'Same Love' when the latter has a 40% lead on sales and 20% on streaming...weird chart!!! maybe the people who compile the chart are on holiday? and decided to keep the top 20 as it is... Edited August 15, 201311 yr by Big Mistake
August 15, 201311 yr Um, wow. They need to do something to speed up the chart. And I feel bad for Macklemore, he's been #11 for sooo long. I really thought a few months ago Same Love would be a future #1. 10th week at #1 for Blurred Lines though!
August 15, 201311 yr I feel bad for Macklemore, he's been #11 for sooo long. I really thought a few months ago Same Love would be a future #1. Same Love has great airplay but people seem to buy the album instead of the single. Which is great of course.

Because of course the most important factor in determining how popular a song is is airplay, the one that people have no control over at all! Billboard logic :D

August 15, 201311 yr Nope, I meant 'the most important', that edit completely gets rid of the point of my post (it's one thing that airplay is counted at all, another thing entirely that it seems to carry more weight than sales/streaming as shown by Maroon 5 being ahead of 'Same Love').
August 16, 201311 yr Author Bastille bubbling under at #104 - come on boys! It's not technically #104, because there will be other songs below #100 ahead on points that cannot appear on bubbling under because they've already been in the Hot 100.
August 16, 201311 yr It's not technically #104, because there will be other songs below #100 ahead on points that cannot appear on bubbling under because they've already been in the Hot 100. I think for official purposes #4 on Bubbling Under is the same as being '#104 on the Hot 100' (for example for some songs that peak on Bubbling Under, their peak is listed as that plus 100 on Wikipedia, not that that's an official source of course). You could similarly say that the #100 is not really #100 because recurrents below the top 50 are excluded.
August 17, 201311 yr Same Love has great airplay but people seem to buy the album instead of the single. Which is great of course. It's had great sales as well. It seems to be the streaming that it's performing worst in (oddly, since Thrift Shop and Can't Hold Us did so well in streaming).
