This chart is probably the "poppiest" of the year so far and one of the best. After taking a week to grow on me "Applause" surprisingly snatches the #1 from Katy Perry and ends up hogging the top 2 with help from Cher. The Saturdays entered at #1 with last single "Gentleman" but given the quality of the music in the chart this week and the fact it didn't come out until Monday means the girls have to make do with a quieter start to their chart run this time round. Britney's still hanging in there and the way it's going she could end up replacing herself in the top 10 given that there are only 3 weeks to go until the release of the next single!
