Performing the 2nd single with Elton on X Factor provides a great opportunity to have 2 decent sized hits off this album and that performance should boost album sales. If he can open on decent sales and then get a boost in the x factor final it would build up sales nicely, this mixed with the high christmas sales it should manage platinum easily enough.

It will sell very little in America but for the fans he has there it will be a nice treat. Great that the 2nd single is confirmed already, either way the album version will be available after they perform on x factor so it will chart.

Face to Face is due for release on January 20th. The video premier's on Vevo on Monday.

There does seem an exceptionally big gap between major promotion and release. The date was from his official facebook, so it would appear accurate. Jan 20th is his Birthday, which I'd assume is a coincidence, rather than a relevant fact. :huh:

The album version will chart from X Factor so it will still get the sales which is the important thing, it will affect the peak position which is the disadvantage,

Saying that, it should hopefully be playlisted by radio 2 next week now that it's confirmed as a single, and I'm not sure there's a physical version on sale from the 20th do I don't think it'll be too much of a disadvantage

A physical would be great to see released, i would like to be able to purchase cd singles as i have all his other singles.

My hopes are top 2 for the album, i really cant see him beating One Direction but number 2 with good sales would be great.

Yeah! I don't think there's any other albums out that will challenge Gary or 1D

Thats what i hope, but sometimes an out of the blue surprise comes, id like it to be gary going number 1 but i know that wont be the case.

Not this week at least. I'm still hoping that he'll get a boost after New Year's Eve and sneak in at number 1 with sales being low historically that week.

Yes that would be great if he could sneak to number 1 at a later stage, low sales be it if need be as by then it would built up some decent sales.

Face to Face is brilliant, didn't expect it to be so uptempo. The duet itself suggested a piano ballad but it's great to hear a jaunty proper British pop song, like something from the 90s, love it!
