22. Turn Up the Radio

Total: 109.5 pts. Average: 5.76 pts.

Highest Rate: 09 (Jack) Lowest Rate: 00 (Queenderella)

I wasn't expecting big things for this but I didn't think it would be placed last. It is probably the biggest flop of Madonna's career and sounds quite unimaginative for a Madonna song with clichéd lyrics, but it's still nice to listen to. Not that it would have done any better, but I would have preferred 'I'm Addicted' to be released instead of this. Quite liked the MDNA Tour version though.

21. Revolver (ft. Lil Wayne)

Total: 117 pts. Average: 6.16 pts.

Highest Rate: 10 (randomfurong) Lowest Rate: -1 (titty)

No surprise to see this so low either, very understandable to see a lot of hate for it - I think you could count on one hand the amount of decent songs that involves Lil Wayne. Nevertheless, 'Revolver' is still one I enjoy listening to and it seems I am not totally alone since this was awarded a few 8s.

20. Nothing Fails

Total: 123.5 pts. Average: 6.86 pts.

Highest Rate: 11 (randomfurlong) Lowest Rate: 05 (JordanFM Riser, plus no vote Queenderella)

I always regard this as a promo track but 'Nothing Fails' was indeed released in the US and selected European countries. The funny thing is, this was released in order to give American Life a boost in the US, and that attempt in fact...well, failed. :P Anyway, back to the song, I was expecting some higher scores as I was under the impression this was seen as a highlight on American Life. It did receive some 8s and an 11 but the number of sixes plus a no vote obviously brought the average down.

19. Love Profusion

Total: 126 pts. Average: 6.63 pts.

Highest Rate: 10 (Queenderella) Lowest Rate: -1 (Jark)

This is the track I was expecting to see in last place, but surprisingly its scores weren't anywhere near as bad as I though! :o Not one of her best by any account and it's very forgotten, but it's a very nice listen on American Life - which overall is quite a poor album I think.

I bet for a fair few, it will be a kick in the teeth that 'Give Me All Your Luvin' is still yet to come. :P

There's also one song that will appear in the Top 10 that I'm quite surprised about.

I'd probably rank Give Me All Ur Luvin' as the worst single she's EVER released so please say it's next at least. Everything about it just stinks (mostly of desperation).

18. American Pie

http://i41.tinypic.com/2gwt6rr.jpg

Total: 128 pts. Average: 6.74 pts.

Highest Rate: 10 (Liam) Lowest Rate: -1 (Tommy G)

I was expecting to see this last so it's quite a pleasant surprise seeing it 4 places higher. Kind of like 'Love Profusion', I didn't expect as many decent scores as there was. I've been listening to 'American Pie' a lot recently and I've really gotten into it. I think vocally and production-wise, it's actually better than the original (:o) although the message is much better with Don McLean's.

17. Girl Gone Wild

Total: 128 pts. Average: 6.74 pts.

Highest Rate: 11 (Nick F1, SweetCandy) Lowest Rate: 00 (Queenderella, Jark)

Very split opinions on 'Girl Gone Wild', receiving two of the highest scores and two of the lowest. I like it though and find it a good album opener - very good video and cover too - although the chorus is quite weak and I would replace its single release with another track.

16. What It Feels Like for a Girl

Total: 128.5 pts. Average: 6.76 pts.

Highest Rate: 10 (randomfurlong) Lowest Rate: 03 (Johnkm)

I think I was a bit harsh giving this a 6 - I've been listening to Music recently (an incredible album actually! :o) and I think it should be more of an 8. Not a fan at all of the single mix though, but I must say the video is quite funny in a darks sort of way! :P

15. Give Me All Your Luvin' (ft. Nicki Minaj & M.I.A)

Collectively, this is probably the most disappointing lead single of Madonna's discography. I find it very catchy and I actually quite like the features, but Madonna can definitely do better. She's shown in the past she can keep current without seeming desperate but this really doesn't cut it. I think 'I'm Addicted' would have been best off released as the lead single (perhaps 'Masterpiece' as the *first* single to coincide with W.E but not be the lead (a la 'American Pie').

Nothing fails is far to low

Girl gone wild is far to low

What It Feels Like For A Girl only 16th!? And it's beaten by GMAYL by 1/2 point?

This is not acceptable

Good Lord at GGW and American Pie being below GMAYL. I don't care about WIFLFAG, always found it highly overrated so glad to see it nice and low.

Should be higher:

Revolver

Girl Gone Wild

Should Be Lower:

Nothing Fails (never play it these days)

American Pie (used to love this)

All the MDNA singles have gone already.

Girl Gone Wild

Below THAT though (and Griff giving it a 10!?) :/

I can't believe you don't appreciate the triple force of Madge, M.I.A. and Nicki :(

14. Hollywood

Total: 144.5 pts. Average: 7.61 pts.

Whilst this isn't one of the best from her discography, it is one of the best from American Life. 'Hollywood' is less offensive than 'American Life' so perhaps this should have been the lead single for chart success sake. I'm sure this won the American Life Survival game from earlier this year so I'm surprised this isn't the highest placed single from that album.

13. Miles Away

http://i42.tinypic.com/3089j07.jpg

Total: 144.5 pts. Average: 7.61 pts.

Highest Rate: 10 (Nick F1, SweetCandy, Liam) Lowest Rate: 03 (Jark)

I prefer this to 'Hollywood' so I'm happy to see it ahead. The Sticky and Sweet Tour version of 'Miles Away' is excellent, it's lovely to see how involved the fans get. Shame it missed the Top 20 officially, especially since it broke her string of consecutive Top 20 hits (although it was only going to happen in two singles time I suppose).

12. 4 Minutes (ft. Justin Timberlake & Timbaland)

http://i44.tinypic.com/whe5oy.jpg

Total: 145.5 pts. Average: 7.66 pts.

Highest Rate: 10 (Queenderella, garyfeld, JordanFM Riser) Lowest Rate: -1 (Nick F1)

Would have liked to see this in the Top 10 to be honest. The lyrics are quite simple but the I love the R&B-ish sound to the song, perhaps a sound she should experiment a little more on if she wants to keep relevant (preferably something a bit more "ground breaking" though). Shame this was yet another big hit that was released in a low sales period though, although it seems strange to think of this managing 700k+.

11. Don't Tell Me

http://i40.tinypic.com/2ccxbtv.jpg

Total: 145.5 pts. Average: 8.08 pts.

Highest Rate: 11 (JordanFM Riser) Lowest Rate: 06 (Simon., SweetCandy, plus no vote from Queenderella)

At one point this was my favourite single from Music but the title track has since overtaken. Really like the country sound but I can remember that intro always confusing me, thinking my CD was scratched. :P

'Hollywood' and 'Miles Away' (which really is a 10/10 had I not been comparing it to the 'Confessions' tracks) I have a lot of time for. Didn't really like '4 Minutes' as much at the time but it's aged well.

And what an awful collection of cover art that section seems to have (it matters!!1!).

American Life's album title was originally planned to be called Hollywood so maybe it would have been the lead single.

Hmm, I think I prefer "American Life", seems to represent the album better as the message is about America as a whole rather than specifically Hollywood.

10. Me Against the Music (Britney Spears ft. Madonna)

http://i39.tinypic.com/332tjcw.jpg

Total: 146 pts. Average: 7.68 pts.

Highest Rate: 10 (Nick F1, Queenderella, Jack, Jark) Lowest Rate: 04 (Titty, O Mie d'Lorde)

Okay, this was cheating a little but I would have been shouted at if it wasn't included. :P I was sure a lot of people were disappointed with 'Me Against the Music' - for a collaboration of two of the biggest female popstars, some were expecting something a little more impressive. I know what they mean, but I can't help but love this and it's seems that is the case for many others, receiving four 10s. I always forget that this was the first single from Britney's In the Zone because of how massive 'Toxic' was.

09. Give It 2 Me

Total: 146.5 pts. Average: 7.71 pts.

Highest Rate: 11 (vibe) Lowest Rate: 04 (Queenderella)

I always consider 'Give It 2 Me' to be Madonna's first attempt at tackling an increasingly dominate download period due to it being available to cherry-pick, meaning it lost out on gathering sales before it was officially released. It's my favourite Hard Candy single so I'm happy it's in the Top 10. I love the performance from Sticky and Sweet Tour, Madonna's tour closers are always fantastic.

Total: 150.5 pts. Average: 7.92 pts.

Highest Rate: 11 (garyfeld) Lowest Rate: 05 (Simon., Queenderella, Gezza)

There's something so awful about this that makes it so great! I've really been getting into 'Music' recently, especially the performance from, again, Sticky and Sweet Tour - the sample of 'Put Your Hands Up 4 Detroit' works soooo well. The original is one I remember hearing lots when I was a child although I'd always prefer 'Ray of Light'.

07. Die Another Day

Highest Rate: 10 (randomfurlong, Queenderella, Tommy G, Jack, Jark) Lowest Rate: 05 (Liam, titty)

At #7 comes the theme to the 20th James Bond film - it was only fitting that the biggest female popstar recorded the theme in celebration of the 20th film and 40th anniversary. However, despite me finding the song very enjoyable, it's not exactly the best thing Madonna could have come up with as it doesn't really sound Bond-esque. Still, ignoring the background to the song, 'Die Another Day' is a highlight from Madonna's 00s collection and I love the Dirty Vegas remix.
