I wasn't expecting this to have made the Top 10! I like it but I didn't think many others thought to fondly of it. I don't think Madonna should ever continue experimenting with rap but it's quite fun and catchy in 'American Life'. Great message behind the track, just a shame the controversy of it meant it under-performed in a lot of places.

I could not have asked for a better Top 5 and to kick it off it a song I always thought was underrated before now. :wub: The album version of 'Celebration' is easily an 11/10 for me whilst the Benny Benassi mix is at least a 9. Lyrically simple but musically it's so infectious! It does celebrate Madonna's career in terms of the influences it takes from her previous dance material and was also another great tour closer.

Might not be a surprise to some but having the four singles from Madonna's most celebrated album of the 00s as the Top 4 seems very fitting indeed! Confessions on a Dancefloor is my favourite album, it just flows so well and it's full of hightlights, with 'Get Together' being one of them. This receives one 11 but seven 10s, proving that its chart under-performance certainly doesn't reflect the quality of the track. 'Get Together' is my least favourite from the album but is still a strong 9/10 for me. :wub:

Just one point ahead of #4 which is just as well as had 'Get Together' and 'Jump' drawn, this would have been knocked out of the Top 3. I prefer 'Jump' so I'm happy this is ahead. It's just so effortlessly cool and infectious; the Confessions Tour performance is fun to watch as well. Unfortunately, this unbelievably performed worse than 'Get Together' and is Madonna's worst selling Top 10. :(

 

What's your winner for the 00s round? ABBA-sampling, worldwide hit 'Hung Up' or follow-up and, in my eyes, nearly equally as good, 'Sorry'?

HA at the COADF singles all being top 4 and Get Together being last. Jump would have been nice above Sorry though, but obv Hung Up has thing shebang sewn up.

FLAWLESS top 4. I can't think of any other album with such perfect singles. And in a very good order here if the obvious has it won.

I'd actually say Michael Jackson's 'Bad' manages to beat it (:kink:) mainly because he released practically the entire album as singles and they were all phenomenal, going on music videos and live performances too. As an album to listen to from start to end though 'Confessions...' is close to overtaking that for me now.

As an album to listen to from start to end though 'Confessions...' is close to overtaking that for me now.

Bad does hold a lot of cracking singles as well as several that non-Michael Jackson fans would be able to recognise. Although looking at his discography, I actually prefer the HIStory singles: 'Scream', 'Earth Song', 'Stranger in Moscow'. :wub: Confessions is still easily ahead for me, in terms of singles and as an album in full.

For me it's Jump/Get Together >>> Hung Up >>>>>> Sorry. I like all four singles but none have that WOW factor for me. It's just that album that, as a whole, is such an amazing, well thought out ride from beginning to end *.*

It's not very easy trying to keep an element of mystery when the winner is so blatantly obvious! :P I couldn't ask for a better Top 2; as far as I can see, this is also my Top 2 favourite Madonna singles. :wub: 'Sorry' is an excellent follow-up to 'Hung Up' - at some times, I've actually preferred it to that - and it's pleasing to know that it's very much loved here. Shame it didn't perform as well as it could have done due to the massive success of it's predecessor.

Nick, one simply does not enter a Madonna AF to rate 'Hung Up' a 6.5 and 'Me Against the Music' a 10. <_< Other than that, I don't think there's much that needs saying about this. The vast majority of people know how this is just about as close to flawless as you can get, perhaps only 'Bad Romance' would beat this for Buzzjack's favourite single ever. Just an utterly magnificent piece of work, love love love. :heart:

"American Life" is only one good album by Madonna in last 15 years.

Really? :o I don't think I've heard of anyone disliking both Ray of Light AND Confessions before. American Life is my least favourite out of those bunch of albums, the singles are good but a lot of the album tracks are quite disappointing I think.
