Did something we've never done before tonight.....

..... Went to a boxing night. :w00t:

I wasn't sure how I'd feel about it but it was really entertaining.

It was proper Queensbury rules. Very loud, very testostoroney, very noisy but a really good night. I'd go again.

My Mum was a great fan pf boxing , really got stuck in :P , we used to think it was hilarious as she a really gentle soul

How did you end up at that Laura, had you booked the tickets

We watch boxing on the TV Tess, knew they did it at Epsom Grandstand a couple of times a year and two of our friends go regularly so we said next time we'll come with you. We booked the tickets a couple of months ago.

It was an experience.

You saying about your Mum Tess. I always remember my Dad telling me, years ago in the 1950s when he was dating my Mum, they went to a wrestling bill in Wimbledon. One of the wrestlers got "injured" and carried off on a stretcher.

Dad said when they were coming out when the evening was over, they saw the wrestler running for the bus!!!

The wrestling always had an element of comedy & set pieces in it, still does if you think about it . Boxing is a whole different game, I do not mind boxing but not keen on that kickboxing malarky which is big time over here with that Conor McGregor in his nice suits beating the head off people , not sure if he is a good role model for youngsters who think they can emulate him on the street

I remember watching the wrestling on Saturday afternoon TV on Grandstand with my Dad in the 70s - the likes of Mick McManus etc.
Shocking what happened to the Borussia Dortmund tesm bus , that is scary :(
I get to have all kinds of fun at some point in the next 2 weeks, with being scheduled for a cardiac catheterization procedure with my cardiologist. He's got to get insurance approval, then I'll be scheduled for the procedure either 4/18 or 4/25. Was told if things look good, I'll be going home same day, but, if there's any issues, I'll be kept in hospital at least 1 night. Was also told I'd be out of work 2-3 days, including day of procedure. What joy I'll be having, and, of course, me girlfriend's all worried aboot me having this procedure done, as are some family members....I'm worried, too, but I'm trying to not let it bother me too much, as the stress I don't need...

Fingers crossed all will be good Mr Big & you will be fighting fit again :)

The news is scaring the s**t out of me these days with that bloomin MOAB dropped in Afghanistan by that lunatic in the States & that other lunatic Kim in Nrth Korea & his nuclear bombs ...why are we not hearing Teresa May etc shouting about that instead of that bloomin Brexit ... if they keep going on like this our planet will be blown right out from under our feet

If Trump were some Middle Eastern President, the rest of the free world would be working out how to invade and get rid of him.

He's a bloody dangerous egomaniac. I despise him.

The world has Always been full of manipulation, biased thinking. When people die by terrorists in Paris or Berlin the entire world shows solidarity. All the victims in Iraq, Egypt etc were only footnotes. Trump has realized that he gets alot of applause for his strikes and that is what his ego wants. Unfortunately others have weapons either and are crazy too. We are in a very difficult situation. I would have never thought that I could imagine WWIII coming 15 years ago. Now everyone seems to head this way

I agree it's Ego driven Elisabeth , Trump shows no control , he is a lone wolf & that is dangerous. I agree with you about a war , things are getting worse very quickly, they say that Nrth Korea are very close to having the real thing with their nuclear testing whay is the rest of the world sayng nothing

His domestic policies are going no where so he's turned to foreign policy to fuel his ego and his popularity amongst right wing Americans.

He's a very very dangerous man.

Well, I showed me mum a picture of meself and me girlfriend a little bit ago, and mum likes her, and emailed the same photo to a friend of mine of 45 years, his reply to her is, "she's a looker"....

Hopefully, when my girlfriend musters the courage to actually meet me parents, they'll get along famously.
