Love it! They won't ever do wrong for me at this point.

The best band ever.

Wonderful <3

This week is really slaying all bases on the new music front for me

This is actually amazing. I hope it's a big hit for them! Battle Born deserved more.

I revisited Battle Born the other day and I think it's far closer in quality to their first two than to Day & Age.

This sounds decent, if a bit too obviously M83-produced.

As we suspected, a greatest hits album is coming. It's called Direct Hits and is out on the 11th of November. Tracklisting:

01 Mr. Brightside

02 Somebody Told Me

03 Smile Like You Mean It

04 All These Things That I've Done

05 When You Were Young

06 Read My Mind

07 For Reasons Unknown

08 Human

09 Spaceman

10 A Dustland Fairytale

11 Runaways

12 Miss Atomic Bomb

13 The Way It Was

14 Shot At The Night

15 Just Another Girl

Not amused at only fifteen tracks and some tragic omissions. Would have gone:

01 Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine

02 Mr. Brightside

03 Somebody Told Me

04 Smile Like You Mean It

05 All These Things That I've Done

06 When You Were Young

07 Bones

08 Read My Mind

09 Tranquilize

10 Human

11 Spaceman

12 A Dustland Fairytale

13 Runaways

14 Miss Atomic Bomb

15 Here With Me

16 Shot At The Night

17 Just Another Girl (I say having not heard it)

18 Glamorous Indie Rock & Roll

With maybe a bonus EP of the Christmas singles.

Ew at the 'Here With Me' shade! 'The Way It Was' wasn't even a proper single :(

That's what I thought, I slightly prefer both to Miss Atomic Bomb but decided to go with the singles.

I'd have liked more than two new tracks too! :( Hope we get a deluxe version of some sort.

The inclusion of TWIW over HWM is weird though. They clearly wanted to release 'The Way It Was' at some point! They've always loved it. 'Jenny Was A Friend of Mine' really should have been included though!

There's a CD+DVD deluxe edition, hopefully with all the videos and a couple more songs.

Edit:

Deluxe Version tracks:

Mr Brightside (Original Demo)

When You Were Young (Calvin Harris remix)

Be Still

Funnily enough, M83 supported The Killers on their UK tour in 2008. At the time I thought it was an odd mismatch, but M83 went in that stadium-rock direction with Hurry Up in a big way.

Never thought I'd say this, but I'm really, really enjoying this new Killers song. Reminds me a bit of Higher Love by Steve Winwood production wise.

*EDIT* Didn't realise that M83 actually produced it.

I just saw your tweet about it, can totally see that.

I don't like that 'Bones' isn't on the compilation, everything else I'm fine without.

I like the new track. As others have said it's got an 80's feel to it. Does anyone know when it's available in the UK?

I'm hoping the Deluxe version of Direct Hits has a bit more on there than the standard version. I would of liked to see Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine on there as well as Bones and also Here With Me. :( On the upside I'm looking forward to hearing the Calvin Harris remix of When We Were Young. :)

What was wrong with Bones that it was seen fit to omit it? And tranquilze?

Can't see it selling much as surely most Killers fans have they're albums and they more an album band anyway. Mind you I'm sure it'll be bought as an Xmas pressure for people who already have they're albums.

It's all down to the momentum (and I'd have liked Shot At The Night to have been released straight away, but then it runs the risk of flopping and putting the album in jeopardy) but I can see this doing well. A Killers GH has been talked about for years as a potentially good seller - I'd have liked them to wait another album or at least utilise Sawdust but it has every chance.
I like Shot At The Night a lot, particularly towards the end as it starts to build up. GH, meh, like most I have all their albums already. Still, hope it sells well enough.

How the fukk have they snubbed "Bones"?!?!??!??????? It's a fan favourite at every concert they play it.

Also "The World We Live In" and "Here With Me" not being there makes it a total mess

I'm so buying this anyways :(
