Well you're clearly in the wrong place then aren't you Zeze! Bye!

One is allowed to express one's opinion Jay - even in the individual Artists Forums! I thought you were a trifle rude to ZeZe. Just a trifle!

I agree it was hard for him last year on the X Factor, but to me he was obnoxious the year before. Regardless of the issues, he was a hypocrite for slagging of Rylan when he was the one that put through disastrous Frankie Cocoza who couldn't sing and was later banned from the show for bad behavior.

Also, all Take That/Gary fans can say all they want it was all a joke regarding Rylan - ok, but was completely uncalled of him to insult him during his solo tour. Why drag him outside the show? That is why I think it wasn't all a joke.

Regarding his music, I find him way overrated, the UK acts like he is the best thing since bread. Yes, he may have had great songs with Take That which i respect, but all the songs he wrote for others weren't major hits.

I don't even reckon his songs with Take That are all that great. I just find him really boring.

True Richie - but those 10 songs were all Take That. I think even you can discount most stuff he's written for others (if they can be remembered even). And his solo stuff - there's only 'Lie To Me' from his second album that was truly wonderful.

I am actually curious to hear his new stuff - not enough to buy - but I will give it a listen. I have the feeling he'll probably have one great song and 9 boring ones.

Open Road is a fantastic song too, shame it wasn't a far bigger hit. I also rather liked Sing and Shame. Plus he wrote about half of my all time favourite album even in his wilderness years (Delta Goodrem's Innocent Eyes). Combine all this with his Take That classics and the brilliant Geraldine singles and I can forgive a few limp moments like Lighthouse and Run For Your Life.

I'd forgotten about the Geraldine singles (especially the Winner's Song). Good point well made! However - one can't dismiss the obvious turkeys that were the Barrowman and Alesha Dixon songs! Just dreadful. He has written excellent songs for Take That but I do think its an exaggeration for folk to speak of him almost in the same terms as Lennon & McCartney.

Seriously, no need to be so rude! You should have written Gary Barlow Appreciation thread (bad comments not allowed) then if I can't say a negative opinion about him.

I hate when his fans are acting like he is some kind of God and that he can't do no wrong. Take that Lighthouse he wrote for Westlife - it was very weak, the melody was good but the lyrics were pretty bland and weak. It was clear the song was missing something as it was the first time ever in 13 years that their single ended in Top 40.

But I''m sure you will say that this was Westlife's fault. The only mistake they have done was to their management and release it even if they already had single planned that was written by Westlife member. Plus, he later admitted he didn't wrote it for them, that song was 3 years old and sitting on a shelf.

And that Matt Cardle song was also missing something.

Don't take any notice of Jay ZeZe! There are some of us who can appreciate the good stuff that Take That and Gary do whilst still appreciating that they and Gary are capable of absolute sh/te as well.

Well thank god for that - I mean, I myself am a Westlife fan and I will be the first one who will say they were idiots for staying with Syco for so long and releasing all those covers when they were clearly against it. Nobody is perfect and everyone makes mistakes. I also think Progress album was very overrated by the critics and public, despite the fact that I liked The Flood and The Kidz - I listened to the album and I actually liked the first half until Underground Machine - the rest gave me headache. The critics praised it way too much because they are Take That, I honestly think that if JLS have released it, they would have called them insane.

I don't think many TT fans were overly keen on Progress. Probably their weakest album overall since they reformed but it still had 3 or 4 very good songs on it. Gary solo will be different I'm sure so let's not form opinions on what he is like on TV and give it a chance. There are a lot of people very excited by this...arguably more so that the Robbie swing album so let's just see what happens. First play of Let ME Go is 2 weeks away

I presume you have made a mistake with this post right?

I think he has. You get very excited whenever Gary's name is mentioned don't you Jay?

Back on topic please Kath...

Always nice to see excitement around Gary. Anyone hazard a guess on a prediction as to how the album will perform?

Obviously number 1 - maybe only for one week but definitely number one. Every Gary fan will almost certainly buy one for themselves and another nine for family & friends as early Christmas presents - even if they did indicate they'd like a Robbie or a One Direction album.

Come on! You know its true!

I don't think it'll go number 1 tbh with 1D on the same week. If it was TT then I'd have no doubt that they would outsell 1D by 3 or 4 times. I think he would of had more chance against Robbie
I listened to the new song. It sounds good, but I think it is way to similar to Mumford and Sons, kind of like Hopeless Wonderer. But I appreciate it is not a another typical ballad.

I love Let Me Go, it's almost Beatles-esque in the harmonies, as well as the obvious Mumford & Sons comparisons. At least it's not a predictable piano ballad.

Going back to an earlier point about TT albums since they've reformed;

Beautiful World >>>>> Progress >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> The Circus

I have yet to hear it but look forward to hearing it in full.

In relation to the topic of Take That albums mine go

The Circus>>>Beautiful World>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Progress.

The Circus and Beautiful World are solid throughout, Progress when its good its excellent but there are a few duff songs on it that i always like to skip.

I must admit 'The Circus' is my favourite followed by 'Beautiful World'. Not just musically and lyrically but it's my parents' favourite album (or one of them) and so it has sentimental value for me.
