Posted October 1, 201311 yr http://www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/t...13-so-far-2519/ We reveal the biggest selling artist albums of 2013 of the year as they stand right now. As the busiest shopping period of 2013 gets underway - which is set to include new releases from the likes of Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, One Direction, Robbie Williams and Gary Barlow, to name but a few - we reveal the biggest selling artist albums of 2013 as they currently stand. Emeli Sande’s record breaking debut album, Our Version Of Events, is the biggest selling artist album of 2013 so far, OfficialCharts.com can reveal. The Scottish singer, who shot to international acclaim after being awarded the Critics’ Choice prize at last year’s BRIT Awards, went on to score the biggest selling album of 2012 with her debut full-length. According to Official Charts Company sales data, Our Version Of Events has sold more than 591,000 copies so far this year, and 1.93 million copies to date. Since its release in February last year, Our Version Of Events spent a staggering 66 consecutive weeks in the Official Albums Chart Top 10. It was the longest unbroken run for a debut album, beating a record previously held by The Beatles’ Please Please Me for nearly 50 years. At the time of writing, Our Version Of Events has spent 85 consecutive weeks in the Official Albums Chart Top 40. The Motion Picture Cast Recording of Tom Hooper’s big screen adaptation Les Miserables is the second biggest selling artist album of 2013 so far, clocking up more than 437,000 sales to date. Released in January of this year, Les Mis spent four non-consecutive weeks at Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart. Bruno Mars’ 2012 album Unorthodox Jukebox is at Number 3 with nearly 400,000 sales this year (706,000 to date). Michael Buble’s To Be Loved is at Number 4 with 394,000 sales since its release in April, while Daft Punk’s Random Access Memories (Number 5 with nearly 356,000 sales since its release in May) complete the Top 5. However, with the busiest sales period for music about to begin, this Top 40 could change significantly before we ring in 2014. October 5, 201311 yr Author I've adjusted my figures slightly to be more in line with the OCC ones, and done the same with the Singles ones too... http://www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/t...13-so-far-2523/
October 5, 201311 yr Poor sales in the albums but that will change in the coming weeks hopefully even if the massive Xmas albums sales are compressed into the final 4/5 weeks of the year!
