Nightwish have confirmed long-held suspicions that former After Forever and current ReVamp singer, Floor Jansen, is to become the band’s official full-time singer.

 

“Words cannot describe what I feel,” says Floor, who will also be joined by fellow Nightwish noob, English composer and multi-instrumentalist, Troy Donockley! “This union is beyond everything, and I cannot tell you how wonderful it is to continue this amazing journey with my new brothers! Once I had a dream… and this is it!”

 

“Originally we were going to wait until 2014 to make a decision about the future lineup of the band, but the past year has clearly shown us that Floor and Troy are perfect matching pieces to our puzzle,” say the band in a statement. “We are really grateful of the bond that has grown between all of us. We love you, guys.”

 

Floor replaces Anette Olzon, who made a surprising departure from the band last year.

I had been working under the assumption that she was the new singer anyway but good to get confirmation, feels like we're now back on a solid path to getting the next album (somewhere between 12-24 months I guess?). Based on what I've heard of her singing I do think she could be good for the band, it's a shame Anette's gone but we'll have to take what we can get.

I'll give this 5 years max before Tuomas sacks her publically.
