Posted October 11, 201311 yr So the Captain of Take That is back...here's how his solo trajectory has shaped up till now: FOREVER LOVE - #1 - July 1996 LOVE WON'T WAIT - #1 - May 1997 SO HELP ME GIRL - #11 - July 1997 OPEN ROAD (my favourite, that one) - #7 - November 1997 STRONGER - #14 - July 1999 FOR ALL THAT YOU WANT - #24 - October 1999 SHAME (Robbie Williams & Gary Barlow) - #2 - October 2010 SING (Gary Barlow & the Commonwealth Band) - #1 - June 2012 And so to now, with 'Let Me Go', first single off the brand new album 'Since I Saw You Last'...question is will it follow the success of 'Sing' last year? October 11, 201311 yr Well he'll get his stint on X-F and Chris Evans and all of Gary's other mates in radio-land will play it to death I'm sure it'll do well. The song isn't too bad but the video is - well in a word - crap! I've voted it'll get to number 2 at least (depending on what other stuff is released around the same time). I wish it would flop though! Edited October 11, 201311 yr by Kath
October 11, 201311 yr This really reminds me of something but I can't think what. The chorus sounds a bit like Mumford & Sons! It's certainly different to Take That's recent sound, should be an easy Top 10, possibly Top 5 or even Top 3 depending on what else is out that week (helped by an X Factor performance of course).
October 11, 201311 yr It's like Home by Phillip Phillips, New Romantic by Laura Marling, anything by Mumford & Sons and some of the folkier stuff by The Beatles all rolled into one. I think it will go top five, but perhaps not #1, I really like it though.
October 12, 201311 yr Great song! Has the potential to do well for him! X Factor appearance after maybe a TT themed week could be a great boost. Guessing he won't be performing on SCD !!
