October 14, 201311 yr Author # 10. I Wanna Go T-sxSd1uwoU "I Wanna Go" is a hi-NRG song, which features a heavy bassline and drum fills; the latter are reminiscent of English band New Order's song "Blue Monday" (1983). Spears squeals and chuckles throughout the song, and her vocals are processed. In the pre-chorus, she draws out the "e"'s in lines such as "Shame on me / To need release / Uncontrollably." In the lyrics, Spears sings about losing inhibitions, while playfully apologizing for her need for sexual release. On the chart issue of August 4, 2011, the song climbed from number 11 to number nine on the Billboard Hot 100, making "Femme Fatale" the first album by Spears to achieve three top ten singles. It became her fifth top ten single in a row, and her twelfth top ten hit overall. In Australia, "I Wanna Go" debuted at number 33 on the ARIA Singles Chart on the chart issue of July 10, 2011. It peaked at number 31 three weeks later, on July 31, 2011. The song became the third lowest peaking single of Spears' career in the country, after "Radar" (2009) at 46 and "From the Bottom of My Broken Heart" (1999) at 37. It became her first single to not chart in the inside the top 100 in the United Kingdom, peaking at number 138 on the chart issue of June 9, 2011. Across Europe, the song has peaked at number five on Belgium (Flanders) and France; number 10 in Finland; the top twenty in Belgium (Wallonia), Norway and Denmark; and the top forty in Sweden. October 15, 201311 yr Author # 9. Radar PctD-8y0FRg Musically, "Radar" is an electropop and synthpop song, that runs through a midtempo dance groove. Spears' vocals are auto tuned and accompanied by sonar pulses and a heavy usage of distorted synthesizers. The lyrics refer to an attraction between the protagonist and a man, while she wonders if he knows what she is feeling. In July 2008, "Radar" charted in the top forty of Ireland and New Zealand, and inside the top-ten in Sweden. After it was released as a single from "Circus", the track performed poorly on the charts and did not manage to enter the top forty in most countries. In the UK, the song peaked at number 46 in August 2009. The single's accompanying music video was directed by Dave Meyers, and pays tribute to the music video of Madonna's "Take a Bow" (1994). In the video, Spears is an aristocratic woman involved in a love triangle with two men who are polo players. Edited October 19, 201311 yr by AlexRange
October 15, 201311 yr Author Judging from your previews top 10s, this one will probably include: From the Bottom of My Broken Heart, Lucky, Don't Let Me Be the Last to Know and Ooh La La  Good prediction :cheer: I like all these 4 songs , but how much from them will be in my top 10 ? :)
October 15, 201311 yr I agree. As a 'Blackout' single, it really would have worked, but as the 4th single from 'Circus'/even being included on that album? SO RANDOM. I do like it, I just think it's not so "special" anymore. Should have stayed as a 'Blackout' track. 'I Wanna Go' is so much fun though <3
October 16, 201311 yr Author # 8. I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman IlV7RhT6zHs "I'm Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman" is a soft rock power ballad, founded on a strong piano melody, that lasts for three minutes and forty-nine seconds. Britney considered the song as one of her favorites, while praising Dido for her input into its songwriting, saying "it was truly an honor for you to be part of my album. Thanks for your input." The accompanying music video for the track was directed by Wayne Isham, who wanted it to show Spears "out in nature". The video was filmed completely on location, with none of the scenes shot on green screens. The video primarily consists of Spears, whilst wearing cowboy boots, performing the song whilst standing on the edge of a cliff: despite her "trepidation" and heavy winds which "almost dropped [her] over", she performed the scene without a safety cable. Isham praised Spears' attitude to the filming of the scene, claiming that she "had not a blink of fear" during the shoot. Isham also considered the music video one of his favorites, commenting that he had "nothing but positive things to say about my experience with her and what she's doing right now" and that Spears "stepped into it with positive energy. She ended up stepping out and kicking ass." "I'm Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman" achieved moderate commercial success. The song did not make much impact in the United States and failing to reach the Billboard Hot 100. However, the song did manage to peak at number twenty-one on Billboard Pop Songs, and debuted in its peak position of number two in the United Kingdom. In Australia, the song peaked at number seven, and was certified Gold by the Australian Recording Industry Association for selling over 30,000 physical units of the single. It also peaked inside the top ten in Austria, Germany, Ireland, and Sweden. Edited February 10, 201411 yr by AlexRange
October 16, 201311 yr Author # 7. Born To Make You Happy Yy5cKX4jBkQ "Born to Make You Happy" is a teen pop and dance-pop song, was released as the fourth single from "Baby One More Time". The song's lyrics are about a relationship that a woman desires to correct, not quite understanding what went wrong, as she comes to realize that "I don't know how to live without your love/I was born to make you happy". Before recording the song, Spears had to ask the writers of the song, Andreas Carlsson and Kristian Lundin, to re-write it, since it was a sexual song. The narrative of the video shows Spears dreaming as she sleeps in her room. As the dream begins, Spears is shown in a blue and silver futuristic room with several different levels, where she sings and walks around, and puts her feet on the wall while wearing a shiny silver outfit. MTV news reporter Ellen Thompson considered it the sexiest moment of the music video. As the video continues, Spears is seen on top of the apartment building she lives in, performing a dance segment in a red top and black skirt with a few backup dancers. The following scenes shows the singer wearing white clothes and singing in the room in which she is sleeping, while her love interest comes into her room to see her. Together, they start a pillow fight that shortly ends after Spears is shown again in her room still sleeping, however, now with a smile upon her face. A longer dance segment intercalates with all the scenes during the whole video. On January 29, 2000, "Born to Make You Happy" debuted at number one on the UK Singles Chart. "Born to Make You Happy" has sold over 325,000 copies in the United Kingdom, according to The Official Charts Company. It is her sixth best-selling single in the country. In Ireland, the song also entered the Irish Singles Chart at number one. In Sweden, "Born to Make You Happy" debuted at number four, peaking at number two in the following week. In Germany, the song earned a gold certification, after peaking at number three on the charts. In France, "Born to Make You Happy" reached number nine, and was certified Silver. From The Bottom Of My Broken Heart fHPnGqXXUmI "From the Bottom of My Broken Heart" is teen pop ballad was written and produced by Eric Foster White, and features Spears singing about the loss of a first love and how breaking up can be hard. As the song begins, Spears declares, "'Never look back', we said/How was I to know I'd miss you so?/Loneliness up ahead, emptyness behind/Where do I go?" During the chorus, she realizes that she has lost her true love, stating, "From the bottom of my broken heart, even though time may find me somebody new/You were my real love, I never knew love, till there was you." The music video portrays Spears is packing up her belongings, as she readies herself to move away from home, and feeling upset because she knows that she is going to miss her first love. Throughout the video, scenes of the couple's past are also seen, including one where they climb up onto a windmill, with Spears singing the song. October 18, 201311 yr Author # 5. Toxic LOZuxwVk7TU "Toxic" is a dance-pop song with elements of electropop. It features varied instrumentation, such as drums, synthesizers and high-pitched strings. The music was also compared to the soundtrack of the James Bond film series. Lyrically, "Toxic" talks about being addicted to a lover. Spears refers to her addiction in the lyrics, and sings lines such as "Too high / Can't come down / It's in my head spinning round and round" in a falsetto. A reviewer from Popdust called the verse "The most representative lyric of the song’s delirious, disorienting charm." "Toxic" ends with an outro in which Spears sings the lines, "Intoxicate me now / With your lovin' now / I think I'm ready now." Nick Southall of Stylus Magazine said the lyrics made Spears sound afraid of sex. "Toxic" attained worldwide success. In United States "Toxic" entered at number fifty-three on the Billboard Hot 100 and peaked at number nine; it was her fourth single to reach the top-ten and became her first single to reach the top ten since "Oops!... I Did It Again" in 2000. "Toxic" debuted at the top of the Australian charts and stayed in the position for two weeks. In New Zealand, "Toxic" peaked at number two, held off from the top spot by Eamon's "f*** It (I Don't Want You Back)". October 19, 201311 yr Author # 4. Womanizer rMqayQ-U74s "Womanizer" is an uptempo electropop song with dark synths that runs through a dance oriented beat. It has been compared to previous Spears' songs such as "Toxic" (2003) and "Ooh Ooh Baby" (2007). It is written in the verse–pre-chorus–chorus form. The track opens with its characteristical sirens. After the bridge, Spears sings the chorus one more time and the song ends while the beat drops and Spears sings the "you’re a womanizer, baby" hook. Lyrically, the song refers to a womanizing man. It has been suggested that the lyrics address Spears' ex-husband Kevin Federline. Spears thought of the video as a sequel to "Toxic", as seen in her documentary "Britney: For the Record", whereas director Joseph Kahn approached it as "a 2008 answer" to the previous clip. The video begins with an opening caption that reads "Womanizer". During the introduction, Spears is naked and smiling at a sauna, while covering herself with her hands. These scenes are seen throughout the video. When the first verse begins, a blonde Spears wearing a slip nightgown is making breakfast for her boyfriend as he gets ready for work. When he is at the office, he sees a new secretary, which is actually Spears in disguise wearing horn-rimmed glasses and a pencil skirt. She starts dancing in front of him and sings the chorus. She makes him follow her into the photocopier, where she photocopies her buttocks. On the back, we see an awkward-looking man, the same who appears in the plane scene on "Toxic". Then, Spears is disguised as a red-haired, tattooed waitress in a restaurant. She dances around him with her dancers and plays with him over the counter. After this, her boyfriend is seen getting driven home by Spears, disguised as chauffeur. She starts to kiss him, driving the car with her heel until both get home. Once they get into the bedroom, Spears reveals that she was the three women he was "womanizing" all along. She then begins attacking her boyfriend. This is shown through Spears as her three alter egos, and then as the real version of herself. Spears throws a blanket over her boyfriend and makes the bed. The video ends with Spears smiling, and a repeat of the opening caption. In the United States, the song entered the Billboard Hot 100 at number ninety-six. The following week, the song jumped to number one breaking the records for largest jump to number one and largest jump to any position in the history of the chart. "Womanizer" was Spears' first number one single since her debut "Baby One More Time" in 1999. As of June 2013, "Womanizer" has sold 3,383,093 paid digital downloads in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. It is Spears' best-selling digital single in the country. The track debuted at number four in United Kingdom and reached its peak position of number three four weeks later. Womanizer" reached the peak in a number of European countries, including Belgium (Flanders), Denmark, Finland, France, Norway and Sweden. It also reached the top ten in Austria, Belgium (Wallonia), Italy, Spain and Netherlands. Edited October 19, 201311 yr by AlexRange
