October 31, 201311 yr 285k is alright for Prism. Certainly not anything special but it's still a fairly significant uptake from the first week of Teenage Dream, which is more than can be said for the UK.
October 31, 201311 yr Author 285k is alright for Prism. Certainly not anything special but it's still a fairly significant uptake from the first week of Teenage Dream, which is more than can be said for the UK. It's not that great when you compare it to Miley's first week total for Bangerz (270k). I know artists like Katy and Rihanna don't sell that many albums, but I was expecting around 500k given her status, how well the pre-release tracks were doing and how much 'Roar' has sold. Lady GaGa's pre-release tracks haven't had the impact that Katy's have, but you'd expect her to top 500k in her first week.
October 31, 201311 yr Oh I know it's not great, but to be honest I wasn't expecting much more. The pre-orders were weak from the start.
October 31, 201311 yr I think it's safe to say Katy's more a singles artist than an albums artist. She'll still sell very well in the long run, imo.
November 1, 201311 yr Love More #23  maybe top 20 ? What do you think ? Maybe. It's #19 on airplay today, and climbed to #20 on streaming last week. Just its sales are really low.
November 3, 201311 yr Katy Perry's sales really aren't that bad given the shocking market decline. Last week was the worst week for album sales in the US since SoundScan began tracking data in 1991. Katy Perry even outsold albums at positions #2 - #9 combined!
