18 | Put Yourself In My Place

Kylie almost wanders into POWER BALLAD territory here, as close as she could anyway. Second single from KM94 and WHAT a single.
She really shows that she has some power in her voice and alot of emotion too, stunning.
Of course this song is all about that video where she strips out of her pink space suit and rolls about in the nudey dudey.
I miss redhead Kylie tbh.

Amazing! My clear favourite from the KM94 era.

I do like on a night like this but dont love it as much as many of the other fans do, so i am happy to see someone else hasnt rated it top 5.I always have/had a soft spot for wouldnt change a thing but i have a soft spot for nearly the whole enjoy yourself era so i would have put wouldnt change a thing well above put yourself in my place, i should say put yourself in my place is by far far the best single of km 94.

'Put Yourself In My Place' is gorgeous - absolutely adore the Showgirl tour performance of it. :wub:

17 | Never Too Late

Woo for more PWL cheap videos and deep lyrics! Another Enjoy Yourself single, that album had alot of good tunes on it.
Basically Kylie, the silly billy, finds out her lover is a douche and still wants him. Tut tut. Yet again, the ARS version is far superior and really
shows off how sad the lyrics in this are and how stunning her voice can be.

In my imagination, there is no hesitation, we walk together hand in hand. Let's face it, EVERYONE knows the words to this. Some of us (me)
might sing this while stalking the FB profile of that crush who will never realise he is a raging homo and you are his soulmate.
Classic song, classic video, I often recreate the bubble bath scene. Such a fun song, works well as a ballad too, but I wish she would perform the upbeat version
more, like she did on X2008.

'Put Yourself in My Place' is easily one of the best from DeCon era, a gorgeous ballad. :wub:

 

I agree that the videos for 'Wouldn't Change a Thing' and 'Never Too Late' are embarrassingly cheesy - especially the latter. :lol: It' probably one reason why the songs are much better when you listen to them than when you think about them in your head. Can we take a moment to appreciate the reference to 'Never Too Late' in Doctor Who? :heart:

 

You re-create the bubble bath scene? :lol: Would you rather admit to that or admit you love the song? :P Another fantastic song though, can never decide whether I prefer this or 'The Locomotion'.

15 | What Kind Of Fool (Heard All That Before)

JohnKm will be happy to see that Celebration is not the single from the PWL GH to make it here, although whether he (or indeed anyone) will be happy to see this
song so high up remains to be seen. Not even Kylie herself is fond of this (HOW DARE SHE NOT LOVE THIS),
but I have a real soft spot for it. A big step backwards in terms of her sound at the time sure,
but still lovely to listen to. Where In The World? from the GH is much better though. A rather spiffy video too, the man in it is a hunk.

'What Kind Of Fool' is quite simply one of the gayest things ever, but I do kind of enjoy it.

I'm outraged that Kylie hates 'What Kind of Fool'! :P

For Kylie what kind of fool came at a time when she wanted to move away from pwl and that sound, so her head space probably wasnt great and the track probably remind her of that time so maybe she doesnt like the song on those grounds. I dont love or hate what kind of fool but i rarey listen to it, i did like the cover sleeve for the single though at the time.

Second single from Aphrodite and a stone cold classic, but not classic enough to score higher on this countdown. missed the top 10, due mainly to an odd release strategy by
Parlo. Some say it's like a watered down Wow, which itself is like LAFS, but I disagree, this is SO much better than either. So effortlessly catchy and packs a punch with its
lyrics. So many good remixes for this too. Lush video too, loved the red outfit she had, I want one.
