A belated thanks. That makes sense - she does have a residency show for the rest of this decade! :lol:

 

I had it in my mind that Celine was performing next weekend; truly incredible that she could potentially be Top 10 this week - would be both her first Top 10 and 20 hit since 2002! :o

 

I'm really liking Lily Allen's cover of 'Somewhere Only We Know'. :wub: I don't think it will be #1 this week but I think it could quite easily get there in a subsequent week ('The Power of Love' by Gabrielle Aplin spent a few weeks in the Top 10 before making #1 on a quiet week). Nice to see the original has received a large boost, would be lovely to see that in the Top 40 this week too!

I expect it was more that X Factor wanted the exclusive first performance rather than saving her voice. Considering she does live shows every night I don't think performing a three minute song is too much for her. I'm sure her label would have rather she perform on both shows.

There's been times in the past where she's mimed TV performances in order to keep her voice when she's been doing tours. When you use your voice like that, you need to be careful - Adele didn't have that many public performances when she was promoting 21 yet still damaged her voice (although smoking was a big part of that).

I wasn't aware she did this, but I'm sure it's excusable since her voice is obviously going to tire if she's belting out 'My Heart Will Go On' at hundreds of shows! :P

 

I missed her X Factor performance! :( I'll check it out as soon as someone uploads one on YouTube.
