WILL'S IN FULL FLIGHT WITH PLANE THEME

Beverley Lyons

NO, it's not a male stripper... it's Will Young flying high at his gig in Cardiff's Millennium Stadium.

The singer put on his aviator shades and white gloves to pilot the evening full of chart-busting hits like Leave Right Now, Light My Fire and Friday's Child.

He even managed to keep a straight face when he split his trousers, exposing his Calvin Kleins.

At this rate, he could get himself a job as a real action man

Thanks for posting Munchkin - I've only just got back home after being out all day and saw them on D. You obviously beat me to it bringing them over here!
Anyone who's going tonight, have a great time! :cheer:

Aww, just heard ATL from MEN - he sounded so beautiful, made me cry :( Mind you that's partly coz I'm off on hols for a week tomorrow and will be bereft of Will news!! Am looking forward to the holiday though really ;)

Crowd went nuts at the end by the way.

You know whats really great about this tour?...everyone knows his new songs..thats an amazing thing.. i..we still love his older hits..but know his new ones inside and out...he must be very proud.
Thanks Lainey - glad there appears to be no hiccups tonight - what am I saying - hope there's a repeat performance!!!! Reading all these fabulous reports makes the 23rd seem such a long way away. :( But it'll soon come round, then it'll be my turn. :yahoo:

Got Y&I on the phone as well. His voice is just amazing - that long note is just sublime and it makes the hairs on your neck stand up when you hear the audience just start cheering in sheer admiration. What a class act he is :cheer:

Can't seem to tear myself away from the pc tonight and I've got to be up early to drive to Brecon! Think I'm trying to cram in as much Will as I can before I have to leave, starting to worry about my sanity :D

See you when I get back girls, and take good care of him while I'm away, don't want to hear any stories of crazed fans storming the stage when he's on his back during AIW coz I'll know it's bound to be one of you lot ;)

First text back..from Sam posted by lobby...thanks girls!

Will rocked Manchester big time tonite :cheer:

LOBBY

woohooo!!!... :cheer:

From Dee Dee on Devoted. :cheer:

Hello, I'm home

Fabulous show, I've NEVER seen him so happy and chatty, he was a completely different person than the shy person I saw on the last arena tour at the MEN. Kept saying how much he liked Manchester. He really was on top form tonite, at first I thought is he sober? but he was otherwise he wouldn't have been able to do those complicated dance routines.

He talked about going into Manchester's Selfridges and everyone went Oooh! and he said yes it is quite posh but we've been working hard so we spent some money. He then said I meant 'we' as in a group of us rather than referring to myself as the 'Royal We'. He said check out the All Saints section in Selfridges and laughed but said he couldn't elaborate. Now I don't know what the All Saints bit is in there, is it a fashion range?

He intoduced LRN as a song very close to his heart and his mortgage!

When he writhed on the floor in AIW, I nearly had a heart attack, it was so sexy. Later he said I've got a splinter in my thigh from the floor but at least my trousers haven't ripped tonite.

Seriously I've never seen him look as handsome as he does in all these costumes, especially the 18th century naval look like Hornblower at the end of the show.

The dancing is to die for and that's where he's come on in leaps and bounds since the last tour. Totally professional.

My favourite part was the Game Show section, the sixties dancing was spot on and so kitsch.

A teeny tiny critcism was the sound, at times it was so loud, his voice was slightly distorted, especially in the first two numbers and the backing almost drowned out his voice on a couple of occasions but apart from that, a superb show!

Oh yes, just remembered when he took off his toy soldier jacket, he burst out laughing and said he'd overheard a couple talking and the lady had said 'He's taking off his jacket, Happy Days!' and he said it in a really creditable northern accent. Every so often he kept saying 'Happy Days' in this Lancashire voice. Hilarious!

 i love our man. :cheer:

Thanks for bringing that over SWF - he seems to be a lot more relaxed this time around - becoming quite an old hand at it now. As he said, he and Michael cut their teeth on the last arena tour. My turn tomorrow - he's a one-off for sure  :cheer: :yahoo:

You'll have the best time hun. .you'll be stunned by him

from Jue..

WILL YOUNG!! Manchester LOVED you!!

from soul sister..

I looked up and around-the whole place was absolutely rocking

:cheer:     :yahoo:

so proud of him..he has come so far.

Was in the pub last night, and there was a girl moaning about the trains from Cardiff on Wednesday night. She was saying 'I went to see Will Young in Cardiff and the trains were late so didn't get home till gone 1.00am'

I was a bit pissed, so piped up 'never mind the trains, did you enjoy the show'

She said she hadn't seen him since the Pop Idol tour, and she said 'I knew he was good, but I didn't know he was THAT good :o ' She was gobsmacked with him and I swear my chest puffed up with pride

When you hear it from someone who isn't 'like us', and I don't mean that in a bad way, but it means so much more. Do you know what I mean?

I was buzzin for the rest of the night :yahoo:

I know just what you mean...it's a wonderful feeling and for her not to have seen him since the PI tour..well.. it must of blown her mind.

on Devoted..one of the girls was grabbed on the arm by a random guy who had been given tickets to see him..he wasn't a fan..but said to her..'look at my arm'!..and showed her the goose bumps that Will had given him..he told her that he was going out first thing to get all three albums..he couldn't believe how fantastic he was

some one else..i don't know if it was the same guy or not said..he had paid 70 quid to see Madonna..and Will was so much better. ..fantastic wonderful stuff.

i feel so proud of him.

Know exactly what you mean. It sounds as if he was far more relaxed last night - probably as he gets into the Tour the more relaxed he'll become now the teething problems have been sorted. :D Great you all had a fabulous time. The more I read the more excited I'm becoming for the 23rd. :yahoo:

I think he's getting a little more confident with his 'chats' with the audience as well :cheer:

I've always felt he held back and was a little shy when it came to interacting with his audience. I've said it before, but got jumped on last time I mentioned it :(

I love the randomness of the things he says

There's always going to be someone who thinks they know better F/G, and always someone who'll want to put you down for not having the same opinion. It's taken time, but he's obviously matured a lot as a person and as a performer even since the last time. What is it he says - words to the effect "I now feel right and happy with myself". If that is the case then everything else flows from it, and it will show.

Hark at me I sound like your mother - probably old enough to be so as well.

Thanks for reporting those little snippets. I know what you mean when you feel proud of him. We have followed him all along and it must be amazing for someone to see him for the first time or for the first time since Pop Idol.
