Well I can't wait to see the pics from GAY last night, LEEverightnow is going to both nights at Wembley, so we'll have to wait till tuesday to see Will in his tennis shorts. :dancing:
Thanks Suggy - they said he wasn't very talkative - bet he was knackered after doing two hours in Brighton. I was really surprised he was doing G.A.Y. as well considering he's got two more straight after.

I'm home :cheer: , I'm knackered ;) , I'm going to have a speeding fine  , but I love him

I thought he was fantastic last night :yahoo: The sound was amazing where we were sitting :o and his voice was out of this world

Can't even put it into words  He was chatty, smiley, sparkly, flirty, funny.......the list is endless. I think he is in a really good place at the moment

He extened 'Happiness' and it was fantastic  The body popping he did with Ashley :o :o How the feck he didn't slip a few discs I'll never know

He sang the wrong words at the beginning of 'Switch it on' and I think another song, but can't be sure

Was soooooo funny when he read a someones banner/poster about the DVD  Said it was being discussed in the houses of parliment or something like that  He sort of coughed the word*petition* then said 'petition' ? I didn't say that I said 'admission' ...........of my guilt  Mad

He did the 'not the face' story again  Said he was in Ireland a few days ago, and some girls started cheering :yahoo: He asked if they were from Ireland and they said yes. He told them they were the only four who still liked him in Ireland because he had insulted them by saying it was part of the UK  Then went on to talk about how they fought to keep it apart from the UK  and how he won't sell very well there  He's off his rocker   Someone has stolen his whip  He said he had 'hours of fun with that'

I love him   This was my last one  Going to miss him soooo much

I've depressed myself now

Had a fab time in Brighton, he was just awesome  Took three Will virgins with me and some of their comments were, Brilliant voice, such a range. A real Showman. Lovely guy and so natural on stage. Love that he shows such respect to his musicians and dancers. I'm going to get the latest album :cheer: I think they liked him ;)

He was definitely letting us know that the decision not to have a DVD was not his! Loved his pretend chat with Mr Record Company man, he was being very tongue in cheek but I think he knew he was being very naughty too :D

Was gobsmacked at the thrusting with Ashley!! The friends with me were very impressed with that

But most of all, the overwhelming thing for me on this tour has been his voice. It has stunned me all over again. Such power, range and flexibility - I am in awe of him

Am a knackered but very happy Will fan, got home at 6.00 today, and have now just finished packing for Wembley tomorrow - so very happy to be seeing him one more time on this tour, it's been fabulous Mr Young :funky:

Thanks for the reports F/G and Lainey. Now just waiting for full reports from Wembley. From the snippets it sounds as if it's gone down a storm. :cheer:

Will Young: treated the crowd to a theatrical production

Having played to packed houses in Dublin, Birmingham, Newcastle and Glasgow, Will Young's all-singing, all-dancing arena tour arrived in London.

Young and a top-notch team of dancers, singers and musicians treated the fans to a huge theatrical production that featured an array of costumes, sets and themes.

With five No 1 singles and two No 1 albums behind him, Young has amassed quite a back catalogue in the last four years and his confident 20-song extravaganza was a timely reminder of his rapid development from Pop Idol winner to heavyweight artist.

Opening with Keep On, the title track of his current album, Young stunned the audience as he turned it into a sizzling song-and-dance number, looking cool and confident in a dashing air steward's outfit.

Every couple of songs saw the show's format change drastically, the only common factors being exquisite sets, impeccably tailored period costumes, faultless dance routines and a strong, sensitive vocal performance. All I Want was a highlight, with an equestrian-themed routine that wouldn't have been out of place on the West End stage.

His version of Love The One You're With felt genuinely soulful, but from a purely musical point of view, his finest moments came during a gospel-style session with three excellent backing singers. Stripped of all the razzmatazz, his voice shone during this tender medley of What's In Goodbye and Love Struck.

And yet there was something missing from Young's performance. A possible clue to the root of the problem came during a short break halfway through the show. Elvis Presley routinely tossed sweaty towels into the crowd, confident in the knowledge that they would be fought over by gaggles of crazed women. By contrast, after Young mopped his brow, he folded his towel into a perfect square and placed it neatly beside him. "I'm like this with table cloths as well," he explained.

Endearing though this little interlude was, an amateur psychologist might argue that this deep-seated control freakery made it impossible for Young to let go, to become absorbed in the music and to express naturally and passionately the emotions contained in it.

The strangely asexual atmosphere had less to do with his homosexuality and more to do with the politics graduate's poshness, education and sophisticated sense of irony. All too often, I was left with the distinct impression that he was enjoying a wry little joke with himself, rather than engaging in true flamboyance.

He pulled out all the stops with his encore, an impressive extended version of Switch It On, featuring yet more beautiful costumes and a spirited dance routine, hammering home his credentials as a consummate professional showman.

But there should be no place for irony on an arena tour. Great pop stars fill huge venues by the power of their overblown egos, their shameless belief in their own sexual prowess, their sense of total abandon.

This is what creates the powerful energy that drives crowds wild - and what would have transformed Young from a worldclass cabaret act and conscientious towel-folder into a true pop idol.

Good review apart from the comment about irony and Will's ego. Will nor his fans need an "overblown ego" in order to sell out arenas. You can keep your egos - Will does very nicely thank you - just by being himself. The fact he can and does laugh at himself is what endears him to his thousands of fans.

Can't believe that tonight's the last night. It's all gone so fast. Hope everyone has a brilliant evening tonight. :yahoo:

Thanks for that review Munchkin.

That's a brilliant montage from tracey/mel - thanks for bringing it over Suggy. Now for reports from S. Africa. I really had hoped to combine a trip there with one to Oz, but I'm not now going to Oz until March, so it wasn't to be.
Back from Wembley. Can't believe it's over but god hasn't it been fantastic. I can't be sad in a way because he has been so amazing. Totally re-connected with his voice on this tour - can't give him enough praise. Thank you Will, and the rest of your brilliant team for the best tour ever

I've been reading the reports from Wembley over on Devoted and I so wish I'd been there, I was at the last night in Birmingham on the 2004 tour and it was brilliant as well. I've got plenty of time to save up till the next one and I'm determined to fit more concerts in and I'm definitely going to do Wembley. There were quite a few celebs there last night, Rachel Stevens and Emma Bunton, David Grant and his wife, Jake from some soap and all his family and Conor of course. I'm off to see if there's any new pics been posted up.

Will Young Wows Wembley

The singer gets sexy and silly on the London leg of his Keep On Tour...http://www.mtv.co.uk/files/library/images/artist/will_young/252/2.jpg

If anyone was in any doubt whether Will Young had what it takes to play Wembley arena he answered them on Tuesday night (October 2).

He burst on stage to 'Keep On' and, dressed as a pilot backed by dancers dressed as air hostesses, he proceeded to wow the crowd with his moves.

A series of tongue-in-cheek costumes and stage set-ups followed – there was a nutcracker segment in which he got togged-up as toy soldier and a cheesy 70s game show set.

Like Madonna did recently on her Confessions tour, the singer even had a show-jumping themed section - although let’s just say he packed a lot more into his jodhpurs.

It wasn’t style over substance though - 'Light My Fire' got the crowd in the mood early on while 'All Time Love' prompted a sea of waving lighters and mobile phones.

Will’s voice sounded better than ever – husky and funky on 'Switch It On', powerful and soulful on 'Your Game' (our highlight) and goosebump inducingly delicate on 'Who Am I' and 'Leave Right Now'.

He also found the time to joke and ad-lib with the crowd between tunes.

When one fan screamed, “Nice bumâ€, he bantered, “Thanks, I’ve had something put in it,†before clarifying: “marshmallowsâ€!

If Will was nervous performing to a 12,000 person crowd at Wembley it didn’t show. Let’s hope he, Keeps On. (See what we did there)...

Ooops, forgot to say thanks to Melle for this. :D
