You beat me to it munchkin.

Fantastic review. :cheer:

Seems you either get Will or you don't but by the audience reception he's more than pleasing his fans & that's what really matters.

Definitely - totally agree - that's more important than anything his worst critics say. Best he doesn't read his reviews it would just knock him back - we'll read them and fret for him

And another - than ks to Sheila on Devoted:

Notice the journo says "He didn't go the whole hog and churn out Evergreen.

This is exactly what Will said in his little video clips. Songs are like dinner party guests - you have to decide which are welcomed back and which have been invited too many times. One of the girls said she actually heard someone say they were disappointed that he hadn't sung E/G.

Journo loved Will but not the audience.

Thanks for posting...not too bad reviews for Will or the show really...we've had worse

but i have to say that i am fed up being a 'Teenage thirty year old breezer clasping screaming Parkinson watching wishing he wasn't gay fan who laughs and claps anything and everything he does while all the time missing the jokes he makes as they go whizzing right over my not very bright head'..

why don't they just do two reviews per paper..one for Will and the show and another for his Fans...after all they seem obsessed by us.

Another good one. :D

Local express & echo review (Brum gig).

WILL CAN REALLY SWITCH IT ON

Screaming girls and women left will young in no doubt about there adoration as they urged him to take his clothes offwhen he played birmingham as part of his biggest tour to date.

Makes you wonder how much they actually know about there favourite male singer, but they were determined to try, unsuccessfully, anyway . Will has pretty much proven his vocal credentials by know, years after winning pop idol and standing out as the reality tv programme's biggest export,

Now a bonafide album seller and someone who can sell out, with ease , venues like this , he has come along way from the chart friendly middle-of-the-road blandness that was evergreen.

In his live show he is able to show off his singing bust a few moves and camp it up,though he's still got a long way to go before he hits scissor sisters territory, .It was a sly toung-in-cheek performance with some impressive visuals ripping off pop art , 50s women and 70s quiz shows . providing a treat on the backdrop when the live band were hidden from view.

Most of his biggest hits were included and fans sang along to some of his most popular ballads, a couple of retro classics such as light my fire , and Love the one your with . but it was switch it on which was the highlight .

Ironic really as it was time for the lights to go off.

What a lovely hubby you must have. Glad you managed to pack another one in after your disappointment over Manchester. :cheer:

Thanks TT - it's the Birmingham gig he's reviewing . It's not his biggest tour by any stretch of the imagination - 2004 totally eclipsed this one. Nice review though.

Just bringing over from Devoted Janet's thoughts on this comment because I agree it sums it up:

I can only think it's the Men are From Mars... syndrome .

They cannot get their heads around women being able to adore someone who is gay. Maybe men are unable to separate fantsasy from reality...if they know they can't have something they are not interested. Women can and are, that's the vital difference.

:P

Thanks for posting all the other reviews everyone. Seems to be mixed reactions, which is fine, although why the audiences are criticised goodness only knows, but it's interesting to see that not one has criticised the voice.

but it's interesting to see that not one has criticised the voice.

Was just thinking the same  Surely that's the most important? Or is it?

Do people want to see a 'show' or hear a great voice?

I loved everything about the show, the dancers, the costumes, but the voice was what did it for me  The set list was perfect  I also equally loved the theatre tour and you couldn't get further from a 'show' if you tried.

Will.......the band........nuff said

Thanks for bringing the reviews over. I'm more than happy with them. He can't please all the people all the time ^_^

Makes you wonder doesn't it.

Will can never win if he dances he is detracting from his music & distancing himself from the band if he stands still & sings then he has no stage presence & is boring.

Pity help the reviews of the Vortex.

Sad as it is he still hasn't been 'forgiven' in the eyes of many critics for being successful & gay. They can't fault his voice so they need to make references to his sexuality & insult his audience. Well I've decided to be like Will print off the good ones & ignore the rest. As a fan my opinion counts for much more & it's his thousands of loyal fans that will keep him selling both albums & concert tickets not the opinions of a few smart arsed journalists.

Sorry for the rant.

Sorry for the rant.

You go right ahead TT. I really wonder at some of these so-called critics for national newspapers. It isn't intelligent to denigrate audiences - it's guttersniping.

Aw well - roll on the 23rd............... :yahoo:
