Posted November 18, 201311 yr OFFICIAL CHART 18th November 2013 Welcome to my weekly top 40, sticking at number 1 is Lady GaGa with the still so sublime "Do What You Want", so in the end this didn't end up a brief no.1 run after all. Celine's strong ballad "Loved Me Back to Life" also remains a non mover at #2. Katy's Unconditionally" completes a top 3 full of non movers which shows how strong those tracks are currently. "Bonfire Heart" manages to regain a place at 4 & Kelly slips another spot to #5 with "Underneath The Tree". GaGa & Britney rise a few spaces with "Venus" & "Passenger". These two are also apparently going to team up on a record for Britney's new album :o The Killers latest release also jumps 8 places to no.9 on this weeks countdown, the track has that 80's electronic vibe going on which adds to the appeal. Following CIN Rocks, Passenger manages a massive 18 place reclimb with one of the biggest hits of 2013. "Let her Go is 14. Mariah sprints 25 places making her the highest climber this week with the grower and really beautiful song "The Art of Letting Go". Elsewhere we have new entries from Lily Allen (HOH), Boyzone (Love Will See the Day), Little Mix (Move) & The Vamps (Can We Dance, very late I know but the magic of Bruno Mars written tracks has to put in an appearance somewhen). No.30 is another Lady GaGa ARTPOP track, this time it's "Sex Dreams", I'm not really sure I'd like to know what this one is about but the song is very different again to her past material. Seems to be one of the standout tracks from the album too. Last but not least there is one new entry which isn't technically new, "Somewhere Only we Know" by Keane was released back in 2004 where it went top 5 officially but this year has seen a resurrgence in the form of an christmas advert where there's a cover by Lily Allen which for me isn't really all that so expect the original to stick around for more than just this week plus their performance at CIN Rocks of this was brilliant so that plays a key factor to it's placing on my chart :D 1: Lady GaGa ft R Kelly – Do What You Want (26-3-4-1-1) 5 Weeks 2: Celine Dion – Loved Me Back to Life (2-2) 2 Weeks 3: Katy Perry – Unconditionally (14-11-7-3-3) 5 Weeks 4: James Blunt – Bonfire Heart (3-1-1-5-4) 5 Weeks 5: Kelly Clarkson – Underneath the Tree (32-18-3-4-5) 5 Weeks 6: Lady GaGa – Venus (17.08.6) 3 Weeks 7: Britney Spears - Passenger (9-7) 2 Weeks 8: One Republic – Counting Stars (1-2-2-7-8) 5 Weeks 9: The Killers – Shot at the night (39-X-R37-17-9) 4 Weeks 10: Miley Cyrus – Wrecking Ball (9-10-12-10-10) 5 Weeks 11: The Saturdays – Disco Love (4-7-11-11-11) 5 Weeks 12: Britney Spears – Work Bitch (5-6-5-12-12) 5 Weeks 13: Britney Spears - Perfume (06-13) 2 Weeks 14: Passenger – Let Her Go (19-21-28-32-14) 5 Weeks 15: Mariah Carey – The Art of Letting Go (40-15) 2 Weeks 16: The Killers – Just another Girl (15-16) 2 Weeks 17: Lily Allen – Hard out Here (17) 1 WEEK 18: Cher – I Hope You Find It (17-5-8-13-18) 5 Weeks 19: Foxes – Youth (26-19-26-19) 4 Weeks 20: Lady GaGa - Gypsy (24-20) 2 Weeks 21: Eminem ft Rihanna – The Monster (30.19.21) 3 Weeks 22: Lawson – Juliet (6-4-6-14-22) 5 Weeks 23: Lady GaGa – Dope (23-23) 2 Weeks 24: Icona Pop – All Night (27-9-18-24) 4 Weeks 25: Classified ft Olly Murs – Inner Ninja (27-19-16-16-25) 5 Weeks 26: Keane – Somewhere Only We Know (26) 1 WEEK 27: Boyzone – Love Will Save the Day (27) 1 WEEK 28: London Grammar – Strong (2-8-15-22.28) 5 Weeks 29: Lady GaGa – Applause (21-14-23-28-29) 5 Weeks 30: Lady GaGa – Sex Dreams (30) 1 WEEK 31: Bruno Mars – Gorilla (30-31) 2 Weeks 32: Little Mix – Move (32) 1 WEEK 33: Macklemore & Ryan Lewis Ft Mary Lambert – Same Love (7-9-14.25.32) 5 Weeks 34: Olly Murs – Hand on Heart (20-34) 2 Weeks 35: Tinie Tempah Ft John Martin – Children of the Sun (23-23-13-27-35) 5 Weeks 36: Wilkinson – Afterglow (15-16-26-31-36) 5 Weeks 37: Matt Cardle Ft Mel C – Loving You (20-24-29-39-37) 5 Weeks 38: Taylor Swift ft Gary Lighbody – The Last Time (16-22-10-21-38) 5 Weeks 39: The Vamps – Can We Dance (39) 1 WEEK 40: One Direction – Story of my Life (35-35-34-40) 4 Weeks Casualties 29: Avril Lavigne Ft Chad Kroeger – Let Me Go (12-15-20-29) 4 Weeks 33: Kelly Clarkson - Winter Dreams (Brandons Song) (18-33) 2 Weeks 35: Matt Cardle – When You Were My Girl (13-20-23-35) 4 Weeks 36: Kelly Clarkson – Every Christmas (21.36) 2 Weeks 37: Rudimental ft Emeli Sande - Free (39-37) 2 Weeks 38: George Ezra - Budapest (34-27-38) 3 Weeks Chart STATS! I've heard it a bit more this week so don't speak too soon.... OKAY :D 32: NO WAY but it's still a decent track. They have much better songs on their album. 34: It's not his best let's be honest. Giving him a #20 peak was very generous of me though. 40: I can tell just by seeing that monster climb :o Ta James :) Edited November 21, 201311 yr by Rob!

Amazing song, so glad it's had good longevity. Fantastic chart! 38: Glad to hear you are liking it now ^_^ 39: I know, I think I've grown to like it now after finding out Bruno wrote the track but no the song is actually not that bad after all. I think at first I was resistant to teen boybands but then I've liked some of ID's... Thanks for commenting Jo ;) Hey Rob :D 1: Lady GaGa ft R Kelly – Do What You Want (26-3-4-1-1) 5 Weeks I'm probably gonna follow suit next week, it's a strong contender for my #1 :D 2: Celine Dion – Loved Me Back to Life (2-2) 2 Weeks FAR from her best song but I actually don't mind this now. 3: Katy Perry – Unconditionally (14-11-7-3-3) 5 Weeks Hope this actually takes off soon, it needs to be big! 9: The Killers – Shot at the night (39-X-R37-17-9) 4 Weeks Great to see this Top 10 :) still can't get enough of this atm! 10: Miley Cyrus – Wrecking Ball (9-10-12-10-10) 5 Weeks What did you think of her X Factor performance of this? 17: Lily Allen – Hard out Here (17) 1 WEEK Surprised this isn't doing better officially but I guess there's still time for it to go Top 3 as airplay builds. 26: Keane – Somewhere Only We Know (26) 1 WEEK You not a fan of Lily's version then? 30: Lady GaGa – Sex Dreams (30) 1 WEEK YESSS!! Didn't you say that last week  Definitely one of GaGa's best tracks from this era. 2. I know what you mean but It's a very strong comeback  3. Top 40 on itunes now and the video is stunning  9. Yeah it's very nice, it's sounds really anthemic up loud in the car too mainly when I heard it on my way home on Sunday listening to the chart :P 17. That's what I thought but I'm thinking it'll rise over the next few weeks. Suprised this isn't going to be no.1 like everyone predicted. 26. I tried my best to like her version but her vocals are so weak and this doesn't have that same warmth that TPOL did last year :( I'm not actually a big fan of Lily either bar a few tracks. 30. This & Gypsy need to be the next releases :D 39. Indeed but like you said this took ages to win me over too, I was trying to resist liking teen boyband pop songs but ultimately didn't suceed, Bruno also has a key factor into my recent liking of it too  Cheers Mango :D Edited November 21, 201311 yr by Rob!

Thanks LJB, 1. That's fair enough but yeah this is definitely one of few decent tracks of ARTPOP. 2. Exactly and it fits so well with the winter too. 3. Katy ballads deserve more success and this is one of them just brill. 4. I can see why he does have a voice like a frog but it's the music that counts and it's fit my taste quite nicely. You always have to admire him a little just for being an Army officer too ^_^ 5. It's Fantastic, I hope you don't get disappointed as Queen Kelly always releases 11/10 tracks imo. 10. Yeah Miley is certainly that artist who can't split your opinion  21. Eminem and Macklemore I would say are the best rappers in RAP history but I'm not that big on rap either. This song is good but is nowhere near LTWYL for me :( 40. Best Song Ever, WMYB & LT are my fave tracks by them but I try to not like them but they suck me in every here and there  Edited November 23, 201311 yr by Rob!

I see you've charted Keane's original and not Lily's cover of 'Somewhere Only We Know', not a fan of the cover? I love both versions although I think I prefer the original; it's become something of a classic! 39 Very late entry for this! Seems everyone has to give in to it at some point; big guilty pleasure!
November 25, 201311 yr Author Thanks Liam. I am not a fan of Lily's cover at all. I've said before that I find her vocals are too exposed on it as in very poor. I also find the "Talking about only somewhere only we know" bit in the middle of the song gets a bit muffled. Just my opinion tho but HOH is much better. Yes Jordan, that medley was genius. I liked it too :D Edited November 25, 201311 yr by Rob!
