Only 258,000 for Gaga? WHAT? :o

I haven't heard the album to comment, but it really does sound like there's Gaga fatigue at the moment. Reason I'm surprised is because I've seen the likes of Gaga, Rihanna, Katy Perry, etc. all making pop songs with the same kind of style. publicity, paparazzi attention, etc. Rihanna puts out an album every year and yet chartwise, there has been no "fatigue"! Gaga took 3 yrs to release her album... so wonder what went wrong.

Not great for them considering M.I.A. and James Blunt also debuted last week, yet managed to stay in the Top 100.

I don't think the promo songs chosen (Do What You Want, Venus & Dope) were great adverts for the album.

 

If the album had been released when Applause first appeared, it would have sold more.

 

 

'Do What U Want' is a great advert for the album, she should probably count her lucky stars she has that song otherwise this era would probably have no hope whatsoever.

How is Lorde still #1? Eminem has been at #1 on US iTunes for so long apart from all these One Direction & Justin Bieber songs getting there.

I don't get that continuous Gaga bashing.. Applause is a fantastic single and a big hit, DWUW is a fantastic single and a big hit

Of course I've heard it!

 

'Do What U Want', 'Gypsy' and 'Sexxx Dreams' are the big three for me and hopefully will all be singles. But what I meant was, critically that song seems to be doing her the world of good at the moment and could be her real chance to earn back some goodwill.

Yea.. her fanbase has now got the album and what happens from here is the casual music buyers jumping on board, hopefully

 

However, I think she's one artist in addition to Kanye West who suffers the most about the rapid decline in actual sales... People follow her and her music via Youtube and streaming services.

 

Just like Kanye's Yeezus is far more familiar to people than its sales suggest.

I really think Britney is going to struggle to sell well with this album. Femme Fatale's sales were way down on her previous efforts and this era seems to have no hype and is in desperate need of a hit.

According to ,,industry sources'' 1D will sell around 550 k. I was thinking that they will sell 650-700 but 550 is still wonderful achievement.
