Posted November 25, 201311 yr V2 : YTD Sales Estimates – Helpful suggestions : Please read these notes before you request sales estimates - it makes my task a lot easier (apologies to regulars for the repetition). 1. Most of the big hits from before 2013 will now have dropped from my tracking range after the Y/E reset, so the Y/E 2012 thread ( http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?s...t=0&start=0 ) should be your first port of call for those. 2. Please be specific on what you'd like to know - don't just name an artist/title & expect me to guess. 3. I'd be grateful if you could try to keep requests down to a reasonable number - say no more than a half-dozen or so. 4. I only track singles/albums that debut in the current year, or big hits from previous year(s) that have charted significantly in the current year. For older sales, see #5. 5. Here is is useful place to find old sales totals : http://www.vidcapper.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/...alesSummary.xls 6. Finally, please check the thread before requesting estimates - they may already have been answered. Thank you. ************************** Singles Pos - LW - YTD - Artist - Song - Total - New - Hst 1 - 1 - 1,438,400 - Robin Thicke ft Pharrell - Blurred Lines - 1,438,400 - 08/06/13 - 1 2 - 2 - 1,284,900 - November 25, 201311 yr Could you give me an approximate date for this - I can't seem to find it? I think first/second week of June, i'm almost sure of that, it didn't sell good on uk Edit: 2012 Edited November 25, 201311 yr by cristhian julian

November 25, 201311 yr I can't trace such an album ever charting. The only other one I can find is from 2011 : iTunes Festival - London 2011 EP Well... it doesn't matter, i just had curiosity about its sales
November 25, 201311 yr I think the Adele thing was on the DVD chart, not the album one. So unless it gets a certification I doubt we'll have much idea of sales.
November 25, 201311 yr I think the Adele thing was on the DVD chart, not the album one. So unless it gets a certification I doubt we'll have much idea of sales. Ahhh, i didn't remeber about that  You're right
November 25, 201311 yr Really looks like we won't have a million selling album this year now. I can't see One Direction selling enough given their previous album isn't THAT far ahead of what Emeli will end up on, and anything else has surely left it too late. "The Monster" getting a sustained boost could push Eminem close maybe.
November 26, 201311 yr Eminem wont be able to sell as much as the MOR albums round xmas but he should break 500k. Its the 1D & Buble's of this world thatll sell big numbers. 1D would have to sell 150-200k each week until the years end to break a million - not possible!
November 26, 201311 yr Locked out of heaven & Treasure, please? :) Edited November 26, 201311 yr by Music geek
November 26, 201311 yr Well Take Me Home is over 800k (can't be too far off 900k? Not sure what its last update was, could you shed some light please, vidcapper?) in total so a fair bit more than whar Emeli's sold this year, but I don't think this one will make the top, let alone a million, for this year's Y/E chart. Should be top 10 though, probably top 5.
November 26, 201311 yr Some depressing album figures. Emeli could stay no1 at this rate. Worries about an album not selling 1mil this year? How about 700k? ;-( I don't see 1D selling a mil of their new 1 this year, have either of their albums prior even sold that yet? Don't see Eminem coming near the top - look at that drop off this week and don't even get me started on gaga's decline... Buble always sells frighteningly well in the Xmas run up but his new album hasn't exactly set the world alight (although decent sales and not his normal Q4 release) and his Xmas album is a couple of years out and already had the deluxe cash in so not sure it'll do that much anyway. Although there's a chilling thought - an all Buble album top2 :o Edited November 26, 201311 yr by spicefunk

November 26, 201311 yr Author Re : Album sales Overall, they are ~4.5% down on 2012, but that hides exactly where the decline is : Range - % vs 2012 T10 - 95.4 T20 - 93.8 T40 - 92.3 T75 - 91.4 T200 - 89.4 Outside chart - 99.4 Overall - 95.6 Given that sales of albums below chart level are holding up best, it suggests that, just as with singles a few years back, sales of oldies via download are propping up the market.
