Posted November 25, 201311 yr ROBS SMASH HITS WEEKLY TOP 40 /// November 25, 2013 Hiya and welcome to another installment of my smash hits chart. Last week Lady GaGa managed 2 weeks at the top with "Do What You Want" but this week her reign has come to an end as the track slips to number 5. She gets replaced by the Iconic Celine Dion with her new track "Loved Me Back to Life" which after 3 weeks since she stormed in at #2 grabs the top spot. The song is extremely well suited to the Winter season I think and a powerful lead single to return with after 5 years away. Following the release of the video Katy Perry manages to climb up 1 place with "Unconditionally" which may I add is probably one of my favourite Katy singles to date and I definitely feel her ballads go very unnoticed. The highest new entry in my chart this week belongs to Christina Perri with the magnificent and beautiful "Human", the song is still to be released in the UK but if we go by her two big hits before I can see this doing reasonably well for her. Completing a female dominated top 5 we have Lily Allen's outspoken and rather controversial "Hard Out Here", this leaps up 13 places to #4 this week. The second highest new entry comes from Ellie Goulding with her stunning Children In Need single "How Long Will I Love You", for me I'm always taken in by Ellie's ballads like "The Writer" & Explosions as opposed to "Burn" which isn't anything special. Boyzone shoot up 15 spots to #12 with new track "Love Will Save The Day", this is turning out to be a song I've grown to like more as the weeks go by. "Say Something" by Indie vocal group A Great Big World lands at an impressive #18 in it's first week on the chart. The ballad also features Christina Aguilera. 4 other newbies enter this week from the likes of The Wanted, Avril Lavigne, Demi Lovato & Little Mix. Massive climber of the week comes from The Vamps with "Can We Dance".
