December 20, 201311 yr Author So after that long spell of valium taking here is the Bronze Medalist of 2013 3. Lady GaGa ft R Kelly - Do What U Want ~~video currently under construction~~ For all you basic bitches out there who are shouting from your keyboards about how 'Gagz is the worst evah' and how she should 'go back to Fame Monster GaGa', listen up. I shall concede that ARTPOP was GaGa's patchiest album to date but the ARTPOP highs are among her best work. 'Do What U Want' is among those greats (most of which have also appeared on this countdown!). Typically of GaGa, this has the outward appearance of being a disposable but catchy pop song but if you listen to the right potheads/monsters, there's a hidden message of how "the body don't matter, it's the mind that's important". Yes, you might be better off with your basic pop songs but as far as I'm concerned, she's STILL GOT IT.
December 20, 201311 yr Author So in second place we have 2. Miley Cyrus - Wrecking Ball. ?v=My2FRPA3Gf8 Take away all of the media furore (that was totally overblown tbh) around the video. Take away Miss Cyrus's bitchyness to Sinead O'Connor. Take away the many questionable live performances and vocals of this song. And pray tell what remains? A song that finds the emotional message it wants to give and is relentless in powering it through (see especially the 2nd verse into the 2nd Chorus). In addition the, quite frankly, iconic imagery of the swinging nude from the Wrecking Ball/the Wrecking Ball itself and you have an almost perfect pop package! But ALAS there can only be one victor!
December 20, 201311 yr Author Here it is, LexC's top track of 2013 #1. Little Mix - Move ?v=RwD4eJGxPc4 I suppose what I find the best about this song is that it constantly feels like it's building. If the chorus you get at the end was the same chorus you got at every opportunity then this wouldn't have made number one. The song teases you by giving you the first chorus in a very stripped back (comparatively speaking) manor then ramped up a little more each time before the final BEAST of a chorus is unleashed. Plus, Little Mix as a group seem to be, to me, the best thing to have come out of the Reality TV pop machine for quite some time. They're well realised, well harmonised both in terms of vocals and personality and they can BRING THE GOODS to a live performance. And that is why Jesy, Leigh-Anne, Perrie and Jade shall share LexC's 2013 Crown. ~The Full Top 100 shall follow shortly~
December 20, 201311 yr *.* And that's how you end a countdown, boys and girls. I mean Wrecking Ball is good and all but it's nothing on Move's majesty.

December 20, 201311 yr Very glad to see Youngblood Hawke here  (:P) I really love your top 3 as well, all of those artists are fairly hit and miss with me (well, mainly misses in Miley's case), but they are all really great songs and had deserved success. I agree with what you said about Miley - I do try and put aside what I think of her when I listen to her songs as I do really like Wrecking Ball. Edited December 20, 201311 yr by Father Walrus
