Demi Lovato - Nightingale - 2-3-6-9-11-21-28-34-42-44-44 [11 weeks] Heading straight into the top 15 now, and starting us off is the absolutely beautiful ballad 'Nightingale' by Demi Lovato, an album track on 'Demi'. This was the song that I instantly fell in love with when I listened to the album, along with the other ballads 'Warrior', 'In Case' and 'Shouldn't Come Back' - all among her best songs, although there are SO many good ones! This is definitely my favourite song of hers though. She doesn't over-sing it but there is still the right amount of emotion and power. There's a sense of vulnerability as well which makes it all the better, and the lyrics in this are so meaningful and deep. Really should be a single but I doubt it ever will be. Heart = broken. nB_-M1Af07Y

Emeli Sandé - Here It Comes - 1-1-1-2-4-6-13-20-28-34-42 [11 weeks] Emeli Sandé is up next with another of her great songs from this year, this time with another soundtrack song but from the film 'Trance'. 'Here It Comes' was recorded earlier in the year and released on the American bonus edition of her début EP 'Our Version of Events' (also featuring 'Beneath Your Beautiful', 'My Kind of Love (RedOne & Alex P Remix)' and 'Read All About It, Pt. III'). This song is incredible, and really demonstrates her vocals. It sounds amazing, and it would have been great if this was given a video (although she probably wouldn't have featured in it, but oh well). So good, and definitely the best on the soundtrack (if I do say so myself). Emeli needs to bring out more music like this in the future because it's a real fan-pleaser. gzM8IdOwwTg

Katy Perry - Roar - 1-1-2-1-1-1-2-4-4-8-10-18-25-30-37-42-50 [17 weeks] Katy Perry is up next with the sensational first single from her third album 'Prism', 'Roar'. It's a fabulous track. I got a bit bored of it after a while (a few weeks ago), but I'm starting to love it again. The chorus is fantastic, especially the last one which just blows me away every time! *.* Although worth a mention is the flop performance at the NRJ Awards. Such an embarrassment; feel sorry for her really. Love how the fans didn't even really care and were only there for HER. But yeah, I slightly prefer 'Unconditionally' to this, and Katy is yet to make another appearance here in the top 20, but with which track will it be, and where about will it be? Good enough to make the top 10?! CevxZvSJLk8

I want to say it's my favourite from his album, but there's one other track that stands out SO much and is just such a fangasm. But yes, this track was originally a "new song" that Emeli performed on her Our Version of Events Tour in 2012 and 2013, but she kept it a secret that it was going to be a future collaboration with her great friend Naughty Boy. We've not seen many live performances of this so far; it only seems to be the other single from the pair of them that features on his début album 'Hotel Cabana' being performed at live events (alongside Tanika's cover version of Daft Punk's 'Get Lucky'). I absolutely LOVE all of the lyrics to this. Such a metaphorical song, and it's great when Emeli takes lyrics like this and translates it into quite possibly one of the most beautifully crafted songs (alongside Shahid, of course). DuhlhUi0O-I

'Mile High' was the first single he released onto iTunes following being rejected by Nicole at the Judges' Houses stage of The X Factor 2012. I was really irritated by Nicole after that... "you're not ready" B Y E. Fell out with her for the rest of the series because of that. Anyway, this is a gorgeous ballad and really illustrates his ability as a vocalist and he just oozes something in his voice that sounds fantastic. Really hope we hear more music from him like this in the future (some of his covers on YouTube seem similar, but are a bit rusty and could do with polishing, aka a studio version on an album). Seems chart show presenting and posing for Gay Times is the best (but hottest) Jake will get now... 4TxxSjZWnuQ

Hopefully he includes this as a bonus track or something on his début album when that is released next year, and it's not completely forgotten given the presence of 'Do It All Over Again' which appears to be gaining incredible amounts of support from Capital! The vibe of the whole song and the video is fantastic, and the whole whistling thing he has going on adds to it! He's one sexy boi too so that obviously helps (x) and he needs to give us more tracks like this on the album! SO much potential in him, and I wish I was seeing both him and Union J on tour right now (bah). 65YbEYuwySM

Katy Perry - Unconditionally - 1-1-3-4-7-6-1-5-11 [9 weeks] Fresh from her dodgy performance on The X Factor final, it's Katy Perry with undoubtedly one of her best songs, 'Unconditionally', the floppy (how can that even happen?!) second single from her new album 'Prism'. The message in this is just so strong and emotional and it's partly what makes the song as fantastic as it is. She carried this message through into the video, the choreography, the directing, the whole production of it, etc and it just looks fantastic (especially all of those shirtless males, OOFT). Definitely THE best song on 'Prism' (although 'It Takes Two' always tries to snatch that crown from it - the pair keep on switching around for me; such a strong album on the whole though!). Banga!' and its incredibly cheap video (but sexy all the same)) is the little hottie / cutie / sexy bugger that is Austin Mahone with 'What About Love', by FAR his best single to date, despite flopping officially. So, so good - much better than previous singles such as 'Say You're Just A Friend' (The Vamps' cover of that song is much better than the original, being brutally honest!). Definitely one of my favourite songs of 2013, one that has defined part of the year for me, hence why it's as high as it is, and I'm sure Bal's going to be ecstatic that Austin is up in hurr x 2PEG82Udb90
