Posted December 11, 201311 yr Some's would say "How is this Retro?" It's Retro because the Physical singles sales are irrelevant, unless you are a conniseur of fine uninterfered with music i.e. over the age of 40! Physical Number Ones 2013 6th Jan 13 HE AIN'T HEAVY HE'S MY BROTHER - JUSTICE COLLECTIVE #2 James Arthur #3 Pet Shop Boys (Memory Of The Future) 27th Jan 13 IMPOSSIBLE - JAMES ARTHUR 17th Feb 13 PLEASE DON'T SAY YOU LOVE ME - GABRIELLE APLIN (not a combined #1) 24th Feb 13 ONE WAY OR ANOTHER - ONE DIRECTION 24th Mar 13 WHAT ABOUT US - SATURDAYS #2 One In A Million - Reconnected #3 One Direction #4 Heaven - Depeche Mode 12th May 13 PANIC CORD - GABRIELLE APLIN (not a combined #1) 19th May 13 WHAT ABOUT US - SATURDAYS 30th June 13 WALKS LIKE RIHANNA - THE WANTED (not a combined #1) 7th July 13 GENTLEMAN - SATURDAYS (not a combined #1) 14th July 13 WALKS LIKE RIHANNA - THE WANTED (not a combined #1) 21st July 13 LIGHTHOUSE - LUCY SPRAGGAN (not a combined #1) 28th July 13 WALKS LIKE RIHANNA - THE WANTED (not a combined #1) 25th Aug 13 BEST SONG EVER - ONE DIRECTION only just released physically! 1st Sept 13 EVERYTHING TO ME - SHANE FILAN (not a combined #1) 8th Sept 13 BEST SONG EVER - ONE DIRECTION 6th Oct 13 CAN WE DANCE - THE VAMPS (not a combined #1) 27th Oct 13 TIME OF OUR LIVES - RECONNECTED (not a combined #1, only #33) 3rd Nov 13 TOYBOY - M.A.D. (not a combined #1. The combined position is a false representation anyway, because this "OCC" lot, disqualified Eminem's & Lady GaGa's tracks. It should of been #42, but they had it at #37) 10th Nov 13 THURSDAY - PET SHOP BOYS & EXAMPLE (the combined chart has more false representation this week, as Lady GaGa is still disqualified & Eminem has had his sales doctored & lowered). Pet Shop Boys are a combined #61, though this open to question, because 3 Lady GaGa tracks, have been ignored, so really it's #64 17th Nov 13 THE CALL - POPPY GIRLS (not a combined #1) #2 STORY OF MY LIFE - ONE DIRECTION 24th Nov 13 HOW LONG WILL I LOVE YOU - ELLIE GOULDING not a combined #1 8th Dec 13 SOMEWHERE ONLY WE KNOW - LILY ALLEN (only available in John Lewis) 15th Dec 13 O COME ALL YE FAITHFUL - SUSAN BOYLE & ELVIS PRESLEY (not a combined #1) Edited December 11, 201311 yr by davetaylor
December 12, 201311 yr Author What's a combined number 1? As in the chart of Radio 1 i.e. downloads combined with any physical sales. For all the youngsters, that download. Apparently average people over the age of 40, don't really go for downloading latest hits...Understandable, because the latest hits, are usually awful, anyway. :teresa:
December 12, 201311 yr Author What are physical sales like these days? It varies from particular times of the year. Sometimes a physical may only shifted less than 500 copies & (another time) up to 10,000...but that's usually from charity releases, X Factor goo or other factors.
