Posted December 12, 201311 yr Hello all. Exciting news!! The moderators have been discussing the potential return of the Buzzjack Film Club due to commence in early 2014 and WE WANT YOU. To put it briefly the film club will consist of posters gathering together to share in the wonderful world of cinema. It will be aimed at anyone: existing film enthusiasts, casual viewers and people that just fancy watching more films. The process will be incredibly simple. Potential films will be gathered before giving you the chance to choose which one to watch, followed by an extended period of time in which you will have to watch the film(s) (this may vary depending on how busy we all are). We will then gather to dissect/review and generally discuss what we've seen. This will most likely include specific questions and discussion points (soundtrack? acting? settings etc) as a means of continuing discussion. Most importantly, the Film Club will be incredibly inviting and we will welcome participation from all. The only thing we ask for is enthusiasm. It will also be a brilliant chance for posters to interact in ways that they may never have done so before so don't miss out! Please do highlight your potential interest in this thread as well as any ideas you may have for how best to implement the club for the forum before we hit the lights and salt the popcorn ready for the new year :D
December 12, 201311 yr PLEASE. need some reason to brush up on essential cinema~ will it be done by genre?
December 12, 201311 yr OOh yay. I feel like this could be the impetus I need to broaden my film horizons (though I shan't be delving into the horrid mess that are Westerns at any time, for anyone, though I doubt many here are fond of that particular genre)
December 12, 201311 yr I always love things like this. Whether it's watching films new to me or rediscovering/reevaluating old ones... I'm in.
December 12, 201311 yr PLEASE. need some reason to brush up on essential cinema~ will it be done by genre? We're hoping to have a mix of all genres, classics, cult classics etc to find the widest range of films we can.
December 12, 201311 yr I'm in. Like Jack though I'd need somewhere to watch them, my usual source seems to have stopped. <_<
December 12, 201311 yr Author I'm in. Like Jack though I'd need somewhere to watch them, my usual source seems to have stopped. <_< That's one thing we'll have to try and get round when running it. We will endeavour to select films that we know are available on sites that are available to all and run tests on them to ensure they work beforehand so everyone has the chance to watch.
December 12, 201311 yr Definitely in. I could use a vehicle to make me watch more films. Especially with a good excuse to share my thoughts on it directly after having watched it.
December 13, 201311 yr Count me in! (Although when it comes to reviewing, don't expect anything technical or impressive from me, I'm rubbish at that sort of thing so 3 or 4 lines - unless there are questions which I'll try my very best to answer all of them when reviewing.) I'm actually really excited about this <3
December 13, 201311 yr Sounds good fun and if it means discovering some hidden gems then I am in. For the viewings, viooz.com is probably the most simple film viewing sight and seems to have almost any film on there.
December 14, 201311 yr Author Thanks for that Davidson, I'll be sure to bookmark it for when we're finding sources. And BRILLIANT to see such a good response already. Super excited to get it up and running now :D
December 14, 201311 yr viooz.com isn't working for me I'll most likely be in this, unless I'm too busy with my final exams etc
December 14, 201311 yr It's actually viooz.co/movies or something, if you put in viooz.com to a direct link it takes you somewhere else, if that is the problem. As long as you put 'viooz' into google, it comes up as the first search. I have watched god knows how many films on there, some quite obscure, and I have never really had many problems finding them straight away.
December 14, 201311 yr Is it safe enough too?? McAfee is bringing up a red cross but if it's just a matter of being careful when choosing links to host sites
December 16, 201311 yr Is it safe enough too?? McAfee is bringing up a red cross but if it's just a matter of being careful when choosing links to host sites Well I have been using it for years and have never once had a virus. I would say it is, but obviously its up to you to make your own decision on the matter.
December 16, 201311 yr Count me in. I really do think this is a great idea - thank you for organising it Haus.
