Think this confirms you all liked a bit of JT tonight. Yet another award making this the most predictable awards night ever (sorry!). Still nothing to depreciate because it has been HIS year as i've said before. A mammoth album in every-way possible, a full experience for sure. The administrators of these awards have decided that only the first part of The 20/20 Experience will be rewarded here but still the effort for the whole project deserves applause. Away from that Little Mix again, Ciara with her devishly titled 5th studio album, Disclosure and Kanye (my #1) make up the rest of the top 5. Well done all! One more to go if anyone is still following this. Outstanding Contribution to Urban Music Kanye West vs Eminem B-)
December 20, 201311 yr Author It just got serious *.* Eminem vs Kanye West, two of the undeniable forces of Urban music for more than the past decade. Not sure it was quite the power duo that the Buzzjack massive were hoping for, but away from personal opinions on them their musical impact can't be denied. The 2013 award for Outstanding Contribution to Urban Music goes to: Kanye West 11 : 14 Eminem :cheer: Not my first choice, but with just a couple more votes, Eminem the Rap God has dethroned Yeezus. Quite apt given his Monster year and looking at his chart history there is plenty there to appreciate. The man that doesn't age (now into his 40s) and still making hits in his sleep, his relevance has transcended urban music fans and he could rightfully be taking this award for Outstanding Contribution to MUSIC fullstop. Kanye trounced him in the Male Artist award, but it seems Yeezus' haters outweighed his adorers here; will Kanye get his time next year? One of the biggest selling artists of the twentieth century and your man of choice. A man of the movies, controversy, image and most of all music, well done Eminem :winner: bmXumtgwtak Chart stats: 1999 02 My Name Is -1- 1999 05 Guilty Conscience (Eminem Feat. December 21, 201311 yr The shade towards Little Mix. The album has been compared to past Destiny's Child albums by both critics and fans alike, so I think the right choice was made for us to keep them in the running. Had they delivered this as their debut and not come from X Factor, pretty certain people wouldn't be shading their inclusions quite as much. Anyway, you can't shade them when you don't shade the Disclosure inclusion (as I've stated elsewhere before). Anyway, it's not like we accepted stuff from the album like 'Towers' (which is definitely pop). The album has like 3 pure pop songs on there, the rest are infused with at least a little bit of Urban. Nice winners! Pleased Disclosure didn't get the Album award in the end, after all the vocal support for them. Sorry they just don't do it for me :( 'Mirrors' should have got video of the year and I can't believe 'Change Your Life' came last in that round. It's my favourite Iggy video yet :( Thank you for the effort and time put into this btw, Bal! Awesome job <3
December 21, 201311 yr Ciara deserved to win something :( Glad Iggy got best female though and Mariah won best collab .
December 22, 201311 yr I think I must be the only person who doesn't get Iggy Azalea - she's really average. Her singles have been ok but nothing to get excited about. Ciara deserved to win something! I'm with Jonjo too re: Disclosure, they're a bit funky but generally a dance act?
