Chart Commentary

Beyoncé is 2013's Christmas number one!

"Yoncé/Partition" debuts at the top of the chart accompanied by all

of its fellow tracks on Beyoncé's eponymous fifth album. Due to the

slayage of Queen Bey this week, 14 tracks fall out the chart.

The sole survivor to grasp another week in the chart at no.15 is

Lady GaGa's "Venus" which secures its 8th week.

 

Last weeks number one "Make Up Sex" by Eliza Doolittle falls

out of the chart from the top position, making it the fifth track in

chart history to do so after Halestorm's "I Miss The Misery",

P!nk's "Stupid Girls", Avril Lavigne's "What The Hell" and

Disclosure's "Confess To Me".

 

All, bar "Stupid Girls", fell from number one as a result of

an album takeover. Halestorm was prevented another week

from the top by P!nk's The Truth About Love, Lavigne by

Jessie J's Who You Are, Disclosure by Jessie's Alive and

now Eliza by Beyoncé. Confess To Me and Stupid Girls

remain the only tracks to have re-entered, both at 11.
