332. "Run" Leona Lewis (6 weeks)

Reached #1: 14 December 2008

UK Chart Peak: #1

An exquisite cover of Snow Patrol's 2004 hit "Run" (#6 in my chart), this was Leona's third #1 in my chart, staying there through Christmas and well into January 2009. It was #1 in the UK, Ireland and Austria.

Such was the demand for the track, that it kickstarted the trend of people buying phony cover versions of a song before it becomes available in the UK. It was one the three new song in the deluxe version of her album "Spirit".

The lead single and title-track of Madonna's 2009 best of album, "Celebration" was Madge's seventh #1 in my chart, also hitting #1 in Finland, Israel, Italy, Sweden and Scotland.

The Benny Benassi remix was the one used for the music video (in which starred her daughter Lourdes and her then-boyfriend Jesus Luz), but I think the original version by Paul Oakenfeld's is much better.
