Synth-pop duo Hurts topped my chart on two occasions, four weeks apart, with "Wonderful Life".

 

Although it only reached #21 in the UK, the track reached the top 10 in several European countries, mainly #2 in Germany.

The title-track of her 2010 album, "Teenage Dream" became Katy Perry's third #1 hit, also topping the charts in the US, Ireland, Scotland, Brazil and Venezuela.

 

Pitchfork Media ranked it #35 in the best songs list from 2010 and 2014.

Dizzee Rascal had a surpise #1 hit in my chart, as "Dirtee Disco" was one of the most played tracks in my NOW 76 copy.

 

The track features backup vocals by One True Voice's Daniel Pearce and samples The Staples Singers' 1972 hit "I'll Take You There".

 

Dizzee almost scored another #1 in my chart later in the year, as he was featured in Shakira's "Loca" that reached #2.

After featuring in B.o.B.'s "Nothin' On You" and Travie McCoy's "Billionaire", Hawaiian singer Peter Hernandez a.k.a. Bruno Mars released his debut solo single, "Just The Way You Are" which topped my chart not only in my chart but also in the UK, the USA, Australia, Austria, Canada, Ireland, Israel, Netherlands and New Zealand.

 

The girl in the video is Australian actress Nathalie Kelly who starred in two movies of the "Fast & Furious" franchise and "Body Of Proof".

Reckless is New York-born Greek singer/producer Thanos Lambropoulos who scored a hit in Greece with "The End". For its release, in Portugal, the track was re-recorded in a duet with Portuguese singer Filipa Batista.

 

Reckless's follow-up hit "Number One", despite its title, hit #10 in my chart.

OG(INTW) was Rihanna's fourth #1 in my chart and is one of her most best-selling singles worldwide, topping the charts in Australia, Austria, Wallon Belgium, Canada, Ireland, Italy, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, the UK and the USA.

 

This single was her first UK million-seller as a lead artist, for which she became the first artist outside Europe, Australia and North America to do so.

"Firework" was Katy Perry's fourth and most successful single in my chart. Having topped the charts for two weeks in November 2010, its popularity lingered well into the new year topping the chart for two one-week spells in January 2011, becoming the first and to date only song to have topped my chart in three occasions. It also holds the record for the most consecutive weeks in my chart top 10, in a total of 19.

 

It was a chart-topper in the USA, New Zealand and Canada and is currently the 9th most downloaded song ever in the US. The music video was shot in Budapest and won the 2011 MTV VMA for Best Video Of The Year.

2010 would finish with yet another take to my chart's #1 by Rihanna, this time singing in David Guetta's "Who's That Chick". It was her sixth #1 in my chart and the first for Guetta.

 

The track was originally written for Rihanna's "Loud" album but ended up on Guetta's "One Love" album instead. It was #1 in Wallon Belgium.

 

382. "Written in the stars" Tinie Tempah feat. Eric Turner (1 week)

Ensandwiched between two of Katy Perry's Firework's three spells at #1, Tinie Tempah's Written In The Stars managed to also take a bite of the early year calm to reboot its chart run.

 

The track originally entered at #6 in November 2010 and had dipped as low as #23 before climbing up again and finally skipping from 10-1 to give Mr. Okogwu his first (and only to date) #1 in my chart.

David Fonseca scored his 4th solo #1 in my chart with the final single from his "Between Waves" album.

30 Seconds To Mars finally scored a major hit in my chart with the epic "Hurricane" hitting #1 after two weeks hold back by David Fonseca.

 

The band recorded a version of this song with Kanye West.

385. "In Punta Di Piedi" Nathalie (1 week)

Nathalie Giannitrappani won the 2010 Italian version of X-Factor and "In Punta Di Piedi" was her victory single. Not only hit #1 in Italy, it became the first song in Italian language in almost 15 years to top my chart.

 

The song was also rumoured as a possible entry for Italy's comeback at Eurovision Song Contest.

Not content by being the artist with most #1s in my chart, Britney Spears increased the tally by scoring her 13th chart-topper with her 2011 comeback hit "Hold It Against Me". (And it wouldn't be her last.)

 

 

The song also hit #1 in Wallon Belgium, Finland, New Zealand, Denmark, Canada and South Korea.

Miss Adkins had already three top 30 hits in my chart under the belt (the biggest of which was Chasing Pavements that hit #4), but 2011 saw her catapulting to mega-success as the first single of her celebrated "21" album became her first #1 in my chart. "Rolling In The Deep" won the 2012 Grammy for Record Of The Year and topped the charts in Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Finland, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Switzerland and the USA.

 

Of course, even more chart success was bound happen for Adele and much sooner than anyone would think.

"Someone Like You" was the standout track from the "21" album and due to be the second single after "Rolling In The Deep" began losing steam. However a breathtaking performance of the song at the 2011 Brits propelled an imediate interest of the track, its digital sales hitting the roof long before it actually became a proper single.

 

Adele became the first act ever to replace themselves at the top of my chart. Even though it only hit the chart for one week, it became the #1 song of 2011 in my year-end the chart due to its 32 weeks in my top 40 (including 26 consecutive ones), staying there well into early 2012. "Someone Like You" became Adele's first #1 in the UK, where it's the 36th best selling single of all time. It also topped the charts in Ireland, Italy, Australia, Brazil, Wallon Belgium, Finland, France, New Zealand, Poland, Portugal, Switzerland and the USA.

 

389. "Nova" The Sound Of Arrows (2 weeks)

Previously better known for their work as remixers, for track such as Lady Gaga's "Alejandro", Swedish duo The Sound Of Arrows, formed by Oskar Gullstrand and Stefan Strom.

 

"Nova" hit #1 in my chart, becoming the first of the band's three top 2 hits in 2011. One of the remixes of the track was provided by famous Tiesto.

 

 

 

390. "Till The World Ends" Britney Spears (2 weeks)

UK Chart Peak: #21

 

Britney Spears increased her status as the artist with most #1s in my chart when "Till The World Ends" became her 14th, a record yet to be unbroken. The Spice Girls and Rihanna are a distant second and third with 10 and 9 respectively.

 

One of the most famous remixes of the track is the one featuring Nicki Minaj and Kesha who was one of the co-writers. The track was also #1 in Poland.

One of the tracks promoting the release of the "Born This Way" album, "Judas" was Lady Gaga's fifth #1 in my chart.

 

The track has been considered the album's "Bad Romance". The music video was directed by Gaga and coreographer Laurianne Gibson.
