80. Holy grail (Jay Z ft Justin Timberlake)

 

“Suit and Tie” credited as Justin Timberlake featuring Jay Z and “Mirrors” also charted with me but didn’t make the year end Top 100. “Holy Grail” would have finished higher based on the Justin Timberlake version without Jay Z but as this is presumably unofficial “Holy Grail” comes in at 80.

Norwiegan duo who had a major pan Scandanavian hit in 2013.

Only entry on this rundown for Macklemore and Ryan Lewis despite having two off the biggest international hits of 2013 in “Thrift shop” and “Can’t hold us”.

 

 

73. Practical arrangement (Sting)

 

Jazz song from Sting’s 11th studio album “The last ship” released in 2013 and had modest success as a single internationally.

 

 

72. Te perdiste mi amor (Thalia ft Prince Royce)

 

Thalia has been one of the top selling Latin singers of all time with career record sales over 45 million as well as being a very successful actress and a duo with one of the current most popular Latin singers was always going to be a hit.

 

 

71. Under (Alex Hepburn)

 

British singer who had a major European hit with this song which somehow managed to slip under the radar in her homeland.

 

 

70. Cheerleader (OMI)

 

Number one in Jamaica and a hit in Africa for this feel good track.

 

 

69. Happy (Pharrell)

 

Charted with me in July but has only emerged as an international hit towards the end of 2013. Featured in the animation “Despicable me 2”.

After being a hit in Columbia in 2012 this Reggaeton song became a huge hit in Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey and has amassed over 90 million youtube views.

 

 

67. Bom bom bom (Roy Kim)

 

This ended up at 7 in the Korean year end chart for 2013 and ends up as the top K-Pop song on this rundown.

 

 

66. L'essenziale (Marco Mengoni)

 

Only Eurovision entry on this chart it finished 7th in the final but had been top of the Italian charts for 8 weeks having won at San Remo.

Born in Zaire and member of Sexion D’Assaut who were Top 3 in my chart in 2010 with “Desolee”. “Bella” was Top 3 in France and Belgium and an international hit with over 95 million youtube views.

 

 

63. Papaoutai (Stromae)

 

More French language music and the first of two on this rundown for Stromae who was number one in my chart in 2009 with “Alors on danse” a song which became massive in 2010. “Papoutai” was written by Stromae about his Father who was killed in the Rwandan genocide. It became a pan European hit with over 120 million youtube views.

 

 

62. Trumpets (Jason De Rulo)

 

“Talk dirty” also made my chart but falls short of this Top 100. Jason De Rulo’s only other entry on my chart was “Don’t wanna go home” in 2011.

 

 

61. Zombie (Maitre Gims)

 

Current hit from the French singer who has had 4 previous big hits in France and internationally in 2013.
