January 12, 201411 yr Author I do have provisos on the music front though - if I like ALL the songs (or the film has a truly great script) I will make an exception. I only have two so far - The Sound of Music and Singing in the Rain. Add The Wizard of Oz and Bugsy Malone instead of The Sound Of Music and you have my holy trinity of musicals (or the only three i can stomach). Bollywood is rife with musicals which i can't get into so i've been scared off them unfortunately :( Love the inclusion of 'Rebecca' and 'The Birds' as your faves.
January 13, 201411 yr Wicked is the best musical. Although that hasn't been made into a movie. Yet.
January 13, 201411 yr Favourite Film · Nowhere Boy Favourite Film Genre · Thriller / Science-fiction Least Favourite Film Genre · Comedy How often do you watch films · Very rarely (probably only about two or so a year, oops) What are you most looking forward to in the Film Club · Preventing the above from happening again. Hopefully this is a springboard for re-sparking my interest in film, because it's really something I should pay more attention to. However, I much prefer paying attention to the acting / directing / production in a piece of television. But ah, we'll see. Will also be interesting to see how other people see through films and how they analyse what they see.
January 13, 201411 yr Author I'm sure you can transfer those interests into film analysis too Calum. Would be good to get your opinion on the films' acting/technical aspects because that can be overlooked sometimes when discussing cinema. And the first set of films have been chosen *.* You'll all get more involvement in deciding films in the future but for the first set we need to make sure there is plenty to discuss in them + they're the right mix which I think we have now.
January 15, 201411 yr Author The first part of this will hopefully be going live TOMORROW evening. Still time to sign up. http://i.imgur.com/KafaRag.png
January 15, 201411 yr The first part of this will hopefully be going live TOMORROW evening. Still time to sign up. http://i.imgur.com/KafaRag.png SOLID CHOICE. Although admittedly I initially thought it was one of my favourite ever films and did a little squeal. NEVERMIND.
January 15, 201411 yr Interesting choice. And going by what I just read about it, it sounds like a fabulous film. Looking forward to it! ^_^
