Posted August 30, 200618 yr Green Day get to work on new album DigitalSpy Wednesday, August 30 2006, 16:46 BST - by Susanna Regan Green Day have started work on the follow-up to their massively successful 2004 album American Idiot. A note posted on the band's official website states: "Billie, Tre and Mike are back from summer vacations working hard on new material for the next Green Day album." Although the record is thought to be still very much in the early stages, the group have given some clue as to what fans can expect. Earlier this year, lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong told MTV: "For us, everything that we do is completely, 100 percent passion- and energy-driven, so however we're going to come out with our next album, just be certain it's going to be an event, not just putting a record out. At this point, to put a record out with like 12 songs on it and turn it in sounds a bit boring for us. So we want to definitely make something that is well thought-out and [that] all of our blood is put into." Their website also adds: "Stay tuned for more news next week." Any Comments?
