BREAKING NEWS: LAZAREV’S INTERNAL SELECTION HINTS MOSCOW 2015?

MOSCOW, RUSSIA – According to secure sources coming for one of the most popular Russian radio station Sergey Lazarev is going to represent Russia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014.

Lazarev is one of the most popular artists in all post Soviet countries. He is not only famous for his music but he is also the host of the biggest annual music festival of CIS countries that takes place every summer in Latvia and one of the 4 coaches of the popular TV show “The Voice” in Ukraine”.

It seems that after hosting the Winter Olympic Games Russia is looking forward to host the “60th anniversary” of the Eurovision song contest

Official confirmation for the internal selection or simply a participation of Lazarev in the Russian national final is expected by the end of the week!

Shoddy Oikotimes news but OH MY GOD PAVEL, LAZAREV!!!! :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: :w00t:

Let's hope Russia won't win though but last time Russia had a strong of good luck all in one year was in 2008 and look, Bilan won in that year. Ugh
It's just a rumour though, let's not be too excited (yeah Vülker and... Vülker). Nothing official yet!

I'm booking my tickets for Copenhagen because one day he will have to do Eurovision and why not 2014? Sounds entirely plausible.

[He won't win though, this is not 2008 anymore lol!]

ESC Kaz have confirmed that the Russian broadcaster will be having an internal selection with the artist being revealed by the end of this week.
Since the first big success of the internal selection with Bilan in 2006 this trick has always worked and almost all of the entries chosen that way came Top 5 (with the exception of Get You) so I'm feeling a bit pessimistic coz can't have Russia in contention for the win~ However, for some reason I feel like this is the year they win again. :(

Without National Final. :o That's really sad. :(

Yeah, I'm so sad the public won't be able to f*** everything up by choosing something as horrid as the 2010 'song'.

Vladimir Putin feat. Sestre?

I fail to see how the highly rumoured Sergey Lazarev is a huge surprise tbh.

Vladimir Putin feat. Sestre?

the other way round bitch!

the other way round bitch!

Putin wouldn't let himself be featured by two drag queens, surely? :kink:

So is it clear what day we are going to find out the russian entry? I can never tell how well russia will do as they won with their second worst song they ever sent (IMO!)

I'm hoping they will come bottom of the scoreboard this year with only Azerbaijan and Belarus awarding them points! If they do win this year it will be horrendous as it will show that europe don't care about russian gays/ russia 'invading' other countries when they choose - well im sure that is the way Putin will interpret it ;p

I know the contest shouldn't have political stands but Russia coming bottom would be a clear message to the country!

I do believe some people will boycott Russia but it will hardly be enough to do any damage. Plus they will most likely send something Eurovision-friendly as always.

I'm ALL for Russia FINALLY DNQing though *.*

It would be amazing if they didn't even make it to the final!

So will we hear the song today?

I knew I had heard their name before, they won Junior Eurovision in 2006! Looking forward to listening to their song! :D
