No, the Tolmachevys have been confirmed.

Ok, usally eurovision.tv makes announcements when artists have been confirmed.

Yeah it hadn't been officially confirmed at that point, but it has now apparently been announced today on the Russian News that it will be the Tolmachevy Twins!

Their song is called 'Shine' and is composed by Philipp Kirkorov and Dimitris Kontopoulos and written by John Ballard, Ralph Charlie and Gerard James Borg according to Eurovision.tv. It should be presented later today!

Why is there no rule in Eurovision for the songwriters to be native to that country? Russia and Azerbaijan literally never write their own entries!

Oh. ANOTHER Shine. Like we don't have literally 368 of them already.

Well that last 2 Eurovision songs called 'Shine' have been amazing (Natália and Sofia) so hopefully this one is too! :kink:

Yesterday they said the song will be presented today but it seems that it won't be released today either.

 

UGH. Can't there be all of them out already.

Why can't it be released today when everything has been submitted - bizarre. Music video musnt be ready.

They have changed the announcement to 'later this week'

I wonder why they are pushing back as the song has to already be finished if it's submitted ? Or can it still be tweaked after this point?

I've got a feeling that the Russian entry is going to be really good this year - lyrics look promising

The rickroll video that's going around for this just proves again that Eurovision is five years behind pop culture.

 

Maybe Russia are going to try and keep the song a secret as long as possible? Obvioulsy it will have to be on the official CD but until then they don't need to publish it. Then again it's not as if the fans don't hate them enough already. Maybe the preview shows will replace their song with Gay Mountain :lol:
