I'm looking forward to hearing what BJORN AND THE LESBIAN have penned this year.
  • 1 month later...

According to ESC Kaz, this final was recorded yesterday and the winner apparently was:

Dilara Kazimova!

Stefan Örn ('Drip Drop', 'Running Scared', 'When The Music Dies') and Dimitris Kontopoulos ('Hold Me') were both at the final so it is believed they were involved in writing the national final songs, but it hasn't been confirmed whether the 3 finalists sung different songs or not and therefore we don't know if Örn and/or Kontopoulos were involved in the winning song.

(I've put the winner in spoilers in case people want to watch it tomorrow night)

It has now been confirmed that Dilara Kazimova has won! Her Eurovision song has yet to be announced.

So we are due to hear this today? Any news on where it is going to be presented as eurovision.tv isn't saying anything? :P
It says we are supposed to be presented the song today on the Eurovision.tv calendar but I haven't heard anything else about it.

I think this is the song i'm most eager to hear just because i don't want a return to baku haha

well it is looking like we aren't going to hear this today...

The presentation date for today has been removed from the eurovision.tv calandar... seems weird. Isn't the song submission deadline on monday? So surely they must have the song ready even if they don't want to announce it until next week? Seems Russia and Azerbaijan are waiting to see all the competition first this year ;p
Yes, it looks like they are going to reveal the song at the last possible moment!
Eurovision.tv has confirmed that Dilara's song is called 'Start A Fire' and will be presented at 4.30pm UK time tomorrow (Sunday)!

It is indeed a ballad, here it is:

Pretty nice, and gorgeous production but it's definitely not a winner, not melodic enough.

Haha posted same time as me =]

I like it but It doesn't deserve to win

This has sort of thrown the competition wide open again. I'd sort of resigned myself slipping them through an easy win but this almost certainly won't win, even in a limp field (which has admittedly got a LOT stronger in the past few days), this has no winning qualities to it, it isn't as hooky as most of their entries.

I see Armenia are the bookies favourites now! :o

This is incredible.

By FAR my favourite Azeri entry.

I think it's their worst entry yet. The piano reminds me of 'När jag blundar' from a few years ago.

I'd rank them:

Drip Drop

Always

Running Scared

Start A Fire

Hold Me

When The Music Dies

Day After Day

And honestly, Drip Drop is the only one that I've kept on my playlists.

I think a rank from me is needed

Start a Fire AEONS ahead of everyone else really.

It's so dull. I don't remember a thing about it mere minutes after the first listen. Another massive disappointment.
