I don't think we can talk about a backlash, it's more like no one really care about new music from her. She hasn't been successful for years now, and yes she's been popular on SCD, but so was Amel Bent and we saw it didn't do much in her favor.

What Alizee needed was a song radio will pick up, I don't see any station picking up on such a mockery song.

Honestly I got the impression that there was a lot of hype for an Alizée comeback :unsure: Amel I thought just left things too late but Alizée did need a really good credible song, not something that sounds like it's made for 5 year olds :drama: NRJ don't seem to be touching it right now but I won't *totally* write it off, it's performing better than Tal's 'Danse' and even 'Et alors !' by Shy'm did when they were first released.

We have been getting great #2s lately (hello "Wasting my young hears" :lol: ).

 

Good debut for Kylie, it could have been worse. Actually it's her second highest charting album in France, after Aphrodite (#3).

Disclosure are actually #4 on iTunes at the mo :o With the Flume remix of 'You & Me', which is on an advert at the mo. Really shows what an ad can do for a group - their previous highest charting was #132 with 'Latch' :lol: Unfortunately the effect has been far more muted elsewhere, the only other country the song is top 100 on iTunes right now is Switzerland (#88).

 

Really poor entry for Shakira, her last album was Diamond certified (500k+) so to open with 10k is really a drastic drop off. Something tells me she's really gonna struggle in the European markets that are generally her stronghold with this album. The US seems to be the only place that wants the album right now.

 

Oh and Alizée is bombing by the way :lol: 'Blonde' charted in the 60s last week, though even that disaster marks her highest charting single since 2007 :drama:

YTD post updated for the first time in a while! Pharrell and Indila are already top 10 which is unsurprising, I suspect it won't be long until Indila is #3 and she should overtake Les Enfoirés a few weeks after.
