I have often wondered why they changed Frozen like that in France, it literally translates to "The Queen of Snow" from what I can tell, which is just a tad different to the name we're used to :lol:

It debuted at #10 back in November and has since spent 23 weeks in the top10. It has sold 295.000 copies so far.

 

Previous record was 20 weeks at number 1 by Lou Bega's "Mambo No.5" in 1999.

They're ridiculous, I remember last year when for no particular reason albums would completely drop off the chart and re-enter high the next week - did they just forget to count albums some weeks? And then there's the fact that they chart Zaz' début album as two separate albums for reasons I can't fathom :mellow: And they're lazy with certifications too, they've no idea how to get people interested in the charts :drama:

Surprisingly that is actually standard fair in France! The French singles market went into around the start of the 2000s and has just been getting worse since then for no huge reason. It's basically the same trend in Britain except the rise of digital sales hasn't really done anything for it, and it's hit France even harder. Album sales are very poor also, but they have always been lower than in the UK.
