Back on track :kink: Interesting week, Pharrell's run is obviously over but with sales so low it feels very "by default". Indila's situation on the albums is similar, too. The #1 album should be under 10k soon which hasn't happened for a while.

Milky Chance is number 1 again with Stolen Dance. It's a great song. The sales, however, are shockingly low. Just over 6900 in sales this week!!!! Michael Jackson is number 1 in albums but it has more hopeful sales at 34k. Disclosure & Eliza are number 10 in singles chart but with 2700 sales!!!! What the hell happened in singles? Are fnac and Virgin Music broken? Is iTunes the only working download site? Four songs in Top 20 have rounded sales of 2000!!!

 

People are talking about how the UK might add streaming, but I think France needs to add it on their charts more than the UK does right now. France has Youtube, Dailymotion, wat.tv, Virgin, Deezer, NRJ and many streaming providers. Then again, knowing how long SNEP took to merge download sales to official singles, I won't be hoping for much.

I know the certification thresholds in France are a lot lower than in the UK but it is encouraging to see so many Platinum albums, and even so many albums getting higher certifications. It feels like a much better representation of what's truly popular than in the UK.

I had no idea London Grammar have done so well in France! Anyone know their worldwide sales for the album? Must be close to a million?

Difficult to say :( As of June 12th they've sold 438k this year so far but as regards 2013 sales, I'm pretty much lost. They've charted in a lot of countries but in places like France they did basically nothing until this year, so it's hard to know. They sold 218k in the UK last year, so they're at least on 656k, but I would maybe put them on 750-800k worldwide to date.

Born To Die has sold something like 440k in France, so as you can imagine I'm pretty disappointed with 20k for Ultraviolence :( Terrible first week but then the French do lose interest in people very quickly. That said it's the equivalent of a 60k début in the UK so not as bad as it looks on paper.

True, but it would at least be nice if her first week sales were up there with what BTD did. Obviously they're much bigger in the US but there's a big come down in the UK and missing #1 in France kinda sucks :(

Well do those numbers include the package with "Paradise"?

I believe so, which is something I guess :P I wonder is there any chance of an Ultraviolence re-release down the line.
