March 10, 201411 yr BEST PICTURE “12 Years a Slave” “American Hustle” “Captain Phillips” “Dallas Buyers Club” “Gravity” “Her” “Nebraska” “Philomena” “The Wolf of Wall Street” I just watched "Philomena" at cinema today. It was the latest movie from the nominees. It seemed that the screenplay was very common (another sob story) but the good acting helped it to make the difference. Judi Dench had an emotional performance as Philomena and Steve Coogan was amazing as Martin Sixsmith. One of the best and interesting male characters that i 've watched at cinema in the last months. The directory was decent and the scenario had many funny moments although it's inspired on a true/sad story. Judi Dench deserved the Oscar nominee for "Best Leading Actor" but it was very difficult to beat Cate Blanchett as "Blue Jasmine". At least, Bafta appreciated the well-written story and Steven Coogan with Jeff Pope won the "Best Adapted Screenplay".
