Think I voted for 7 or 8 of the top ten! Also, YAY at Precious being so high, I always thought I was more or less alone in being obsessed with that song but it's far exceeded my expectations. I bought it on single before even realising that it was our entry to Eurovision that year, it worked perfectly well as a standalone chart hit.
Just realised I missed 2013 songs out of my votes due to not having sorted out my playlists properly. :drama: Ah well, glad Margaret came top ten anyway! Solid ten although I've never much liked 'Every Way That I Can'...

I voted for FOUR out the Top 10 but the list is indeed pretty damn good.

Positions 9 and 10!

ย

9. http://www.eurovision.tv/img/upload/flags/mini/United_Kingdom.png United Kingdom 1997 // Katrina & The Waves - Love Shine A Light

117 points | 6 voters: LexC (1st), smiffj (10th), Eyes (11th), AdamAloud (14th), gooddelta (14th), Pavel (19th)

ย

10. http://www.eurovision.tv/img/upload/flags/mini/Turkey.png Turkey 2003 // Sertab Erener - Everyway That I Can

112 points | 6 voters: Pavel (3rd), Nick F1 (4th), AdamAloud (11th), Vรผlker (12th), AaronTM (16th), smiffj (28th)

ย

As we move into the top 10 we see two Eurovision winners! Katrina & The Waves' 'Love Shine A Light' won in 1997 for the United Kingdom with a record number of points that wasn't beaten until the introduction of the semi finals, and therefore more voters, in 2004. The year before the introduction of the semi finals was won by Sertab Erener, the other song in this section. 'Everyway That I Can' won one of the closest contests ever after Turkey, Belgium and Russia were separated by just 3 points!

Lex should be posting the next one soon.

7. Ukraine 2004// Ruslana - Wild Dances

(gooddelta - 26th, AaronTM - 18th, Ghosty - 7th, Eyes - 3rd, AdamAloud - 10th, randomf - 2nd)

8. Sweden 2008// Charlotte Perrelli - Hero

(Cassandra - 2nd, gooddelta - 8th, AdamAloud - 6th, JackJones - 6th, ScottyEM - 15th)

ย

Up here we have two tracks that are considered by many a fanboy to be the best ESC tracks of recent years. Charlotte's second appeaance on this countdown sees her serving some monochrome alien realness. Also here is Xena Warrior Princess's Ukrainian cousin Ruslana with ethno stomper 'Wild Dances'. If you ask me, of the run of ethno winners from the mid 2000s, Ruslana's has aged the least well when compared to Helena and Sertab but there's no denying the immensity of that MAXIMAL PERF in Istanbul!

So high. :o

Very undpredictable result.

Uh, really? It's about the most obvious Eurovision favourite going!

It was one of the first ones to be moved when that happened and it's currently in the Management version of that before we opened up the Quarantine forum. I see no harm in dropping it down to there at least so you can still compile in your own time.

Positions 5 and 6!

ย

5. http://www.eurovision.tv/img/upload/flags/mini/Sweden.png Sweden 1974 // ABBA - Waterloo

148 points | 7 voters: Eyes (2nd), Ghosty (2nd), AdamAloud (4th), AH Gold (6th), Pavel (10th), smiffj (18th), AlexRange (27th)

ย

6. http://www.eurovision.tv/img/upload/flags/mini/Ukraine.png Ukraine 2008 // Ani Lorak - Shady Lady

134 points | 7 voters: Nick F1 (6th), AaronTM (8th), LexC (8th), ScottyEm (9th), randomfurlong (12th), Cal (16th), Ryan (24th)

ย

In fifth place we have the winner of the 1974 contest, ABBA with 'Waterloo'. Most consider it to be the most famous song in Eurovision's history and it won the contest's 50th Anniversary celebration contest in 2005. Also, ABBA went on to have 9 number one hits in the UK!

ย

In sixth place we have the runner-up of the 2008 contest won by Russia's Dima Bilan and that runner-up was Ukraine's Ani Lorak with 'Shady Lady'.
