Posted January 19, 201411 yr 4jd6_uQuO0I 'Flute' is getting a proper push in the UK this April July September October November December, how do we think it will fair in the charts? Edited May 14, 20205 yr by lewistgreen adding release date
January 20, 201411 yr I was a bit underwhelmed when I first heard this but it will probably grow on me
July 12, 201411 yr I prefer the original but the Lethal Bizzle version is good too, not sure it will do a 'Tsunami' though :(
July 12, 201411 yr Good move for 3Beat to rent-a-rapper on this, as it's far too late to release the instrumental and expect it to do well. I think this'll chart similarly to 'Dr. Who' from earlier this year, as both songs follow the 'put grime rapper on club record from ages ago' formula. It should at least go top 40 because of his fanbase.
July 12, 201411 yr Author how many aborted releases has this had ??? the addition of the rap seems a little desperate~
July 12, 201411 yr how many aborted releases has this had ??? the addition of the rap seems a little desperate~ I think it was meant to be released in January, then it was pushed back to April, then it was pushed back to July, and now September  The 'Flute' campaign has been a disaster tbh, I can't believe they're still trying to make it a hit single. Could've gone top 10 off the back of Animals but now is far too late, even with the rap, it'll only spend 1 week top 40
August 25, 201410 yr Pushed back yet again to October 19th. The release strategy for this is just all over the place. Are 3Beat just persistently waiting in hope that a station will pick this up?
August 25, 201410 yr oh gosh just release the thing already :drama: there's no chance of this being a decent sized hit now surely? a 32-78-OUT chart run is probably the best it can do now and that's only because of Lethal B's fanbase.
September 15, 201410 yr Seriously :drama: What is the point, just cancel it already!! Though it could still chart top 40 I hope it flops!
September 15, 201410 yr I'd just like to know what they're waiting for. And why they'd release it in Q4?!
September 15, 201410 yr I only just got round to listening to this, is the fact it sounds so much like 'Animals' and 'Tsunami' spliced together intentional?
September 15, 201410 yr Ready for it? .... Well, it's been pushed back AGAIN to November 23rd  OMG!!! I only just got round to listening to this, is the fact it sounds so much like 'Animals' and 'Tsunami' spliced together intentional? Well it was originally released a few months after Animals/Tsunami blew up so I'd say yes it was basically a cash-in on the success of those songs. I don't get why they're still bothering with this song though, it's time had been and gone months ago.
September 15, 201410 yr I only just got round to listening to this, is the fact it sounds so much like 'Animals' and 'Tsunami' spliced together intentional? Quite possibly, it was beginning to look like the next sub-genre dance craze (add Guetta's Shot Me Down in the mix too).
October 14, 201410 yr Now to be released.... on December 7th  Edited October 14, 201410 yr by lewistgreen
October 14, 201410 yr Surely the best thing to do with this is to release it the week after the Xmas chart? (As in, when there'll be ZERO other new entries)
