I saw in the Beatles forum, Thisispop posted the Top 50 best Cover versions of all-time as selected by music critics & artists in Nov 2004 Mojo magazine B)

http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?s...=42565&st=0

I noticed that one of the two Elvis covers listed was John Cale's Heartbreak Hotel and I have to confess, until today, I'd never heard it  Anyway, here's a YouTube clip of John Cale - Heartbreak Hotel (Live 1994) for Elvis - The Tribute Concert - Live at The Pyramid Arena In Memphis B) Musically, it may be very good, but I'm sorry, it doesn't do anything for me :(

I love I Just Can't Help Believin' (it's always been my fave Elvis song) and listening to B.J. Thomas' version today, it just emphasises to me, what a great artist Elvis was. He took that song, which had been a hit for B.J. and made it his own
