'Donatella'
Average: 5.18

Buzzjack is clearly not so FAAAAAAAB, with 'Donatella' claiming the dreadful last place in this rate. Many criticize the song for its lyrics, dismissing them as cringeworthy and awful. Well, Gaga, has battle to pick with you. She explained the song in an interview with music website Just Jared: “'Donatella' is an incredible crazy fun pop
song with really raising electronic beats that I
did with Zedd. It’s about being a fearless
female and not caring what people say about
you – being proud of who you are and walking
the walk no matter what. Maybe she’s a
bitch, maybe she’s too skinny, maybe she’s
too rich, maybe she’s too out there. Or,
maybe she’s brilliant, maybe she’s intelligent,
maybe she’s strong, maybe she’s everything,
maybe she’s Donatella.” - Just Jared Interview. The song has also been inspired by Gaga's dear BFF, Donatella Versace and Gaga becoming the new face of Versace. Those who detest this song are obviously not rich bitches or the upper class. :whip: It is indeed a crime against humanity that the fabbest song in Gaga's entire catalogue finishes in such an embarrassing spot.

On The Red Carpet Review:
In a homage to Versace
designer Donatella Versace, Gaga takes a turn for
the cheeky and over-the-top, declaring, "I am so
fab / Check it out I'm blonde / I'm skinny / I'm
rich / And I'm a little bit of a [expletive]." The
song is meant for catwalks and clubs everywhere,
one that is sure to be a favorite among fans.

Dazed Review:
"I'm a little bit of a bitch"
It's true! In "Donatella", Gaga channels the
spirit of Courtney Stodden, Paris Hilton and Kim
K in a campy satire of the fashion industry.
With all the nuance of "Beautiful, Dirty, Rich",
she speak-raps "Walk down the runway but
don't puke... you just had a salad today". As
someone that has spoken out about her own
struggles with eating disorders, it seems a
slightly disingenuous turn for Gaga, especially
as self-empowerment was a central tenet of her
multi-million-dollar-grossing Born This Way Ball.
Time Review:
On the worse hand there’s “Donatella”, Gaga’s
attempt at dismantling 1% culture, or maybe just
the Versace maven individually (after all, it starts
with a scathing, but accurate description of Ms.
Versace’s appearance). “Donatella” could have
been a solid body image anthem, one that
announces in the pop radio format that it’s okay
to be imperfect in your body, in your clothes, and
with your money. But, the personal vendetta
makes the song seem childish, an unfortunate
look for someone approaching 30.

Billboard Review:
Whisking pop fans into the
fashion world and squaring her sights on one of
the strongest figures in that medium, Gaga
turns "Donatella" into an anthem for the
outcasts that have a right to feel gorgeous.
Unlike "G.U.Y.," Zedd's production work here
doesn't quite hypnotize, but like that earlier
"ARTPOP" track, Gaga embraces the pointedly
playful concept wholeheartedly
Popdust Review:
We all know Gaga isn’t one for exposing her
wealth so who is she describing here? The rest of
excessive Hollywood? Starting the song with “I
am so fab” (which for Gaga is true), but what she
says next does not add up: “Blonde, skinny, rich
and a little bit of a bitch.”
At this point I realized she’s describing a
“Donatella:” her idea of that vapid girl that is
driven by material objects…I’m sure she meets a
lot of these “Donatellas” everyday in her industry.

I had SO much love for Donatella when the album first dropped but it's aged quite badly :/ Still should have been Swine.

Donatella herself and Gaga together is super cute though <3

11.54 Jewels 'N Drugs

Didn't vote for this, but Venus needs to be last. Worst song of the year, well, after those three.

'Jewels 'n Drugs' (feat. T.I., Too Short & Twista)
Average: 5.73

http://24.media.tumblr.com/610a62940d8bc62810195cbe40b074aa/tumblr_msikatj8Ic1sfb8voo1_500.jpg

Surprise surprise, the first urban rap experimentation from Gaga has been snubbed by Buzzjack (queue Vidcapper rant here). Twista spoke out about the collab: "I was doing some songs last year with one
her producers, DJ White Shadow. He’s been
pretty busy, doing his thing around the world
and he got back at me a little while ago and
said, ‘There’s a song that Lady Gaga’s doing
that possibly they would want to get you on’
… so I said, ‘s— I’m down with it!’" - Twista to
MTV News
Soon after, the session was booked in Los
Angeles and $hort got in the booth and laid
his verse down, just like that. "Then he called
back and was like, 'She's going to debut the
song at one of her shows' and I'm like,'s--- I'm
there!'"

On The Red Carpet Review:
In perhaps the strangest track on
the album, Gaga experiments with trap-style hip-
hop, in a song that sounds like three songs in
one, with each layer fit to each unique
collaborator. The song is a standout on the album
for being the most drastic and different from
anything the singer has recorded previously.
Dazed Review:
"There's good pussy in the passenger
seat"
Thanks to Too $hort for this tender image of
Gaga's private parts in "Jewels n' Drugs", a hip
hop experiment which also features T.I. and
Twista. "Don't want your money, want your
love", Gaga spits over trap stutters in the vein
of last year's oddity "Cake Like Lady Gaga". It
could be fun, but it all feels a little calculated
and cold.

Time Review:
The moments where ARTPOP sells the ambitions
of its title are the moments that stand most apart
from her prior work. “Jewels N’ Drugs”
features T.I., Too $hort, and Twista, a
combination that seems only Gaga would have
been able to bring together, and it ends up
working as one of the record’s best tracks.
Billboard Review:
The transition between the
starry-eyed "Sex Dreams" and T.I. thumping
his chest at the start of "Jewels n' Drugs" is
more than a little jarring, and the Gaga-
assisted hip-hop summit exists in its own grimy
world on "ARTPOP." Kudos to Gaga for
refracting her latest tale of fame addiction
through the prism of hip-hop, as well as
tapping a world-class veteran like Twista to
help get the job done.

Popdust Review:
It seems like Gaga is taking a tip out of Katy
Perry’s song book. Jewels N’ Drugs, featuring T.I.,
Too $hort, and Twista, the pop star takes a turn
for the worse on this track.
I’m not sure why all these young female pop
artists continue to collaborate with rappers. Some
sounds should just stay in their own genre. This
track does nothing for ARTPOP. That being said,
Lady Gaga’s part in this song would also do
nothing for a T.I. or Twista album.
Even if the sound was there, the lyrics are still
empty. All in all I would have preferred this track
to have stayed on paper.
